My roots look awful, I think I have no choice really. I'm too attached to my blonde hair though =(
I was told in the past that you leave your hair for 6 weeks after dying it the first time as its bad not 100% sure weither its true or not

Blonde, your hair is bleached, not 'coloured' (tinted or whatever they call it?) I'm not sure that you can restore your hair to its natural colour... You might be able to get a blonde tint for your roots which would soften the colour contrast, but you'd have to find a really talented stylist to do it.
Actually, given your recent mishap with chemical straighteners I'd say you should certainly not attempt any kind of colouring yourself. Go to a salon and get a consultant, you'll only regret it if you don't. You might already have been planning to so no offence, I just want my advice to be unambiguous this time:
"DONT TRY THIS AT HOME KIDS."

Just go to a salon...they'll be able to get it back or atleast close to the origional. I had my hair bleeched very florecenet blonde..almost close to white when i started growing my hair out. I had it colored back to my normal and ive yet to have any problems with it. Just make sure you go to a place you trust and not one thats out to rob you
No, he shouldn't get a "blonde tint" for his roots. His hair is fried like an egg and he needs to lay off the peroxide. Your suggested "blonde tint" isn't going to come close to matching the bleached-out lengths and he'll still be stuck with two-tone hair. I've seen women with jet black hair bleach it to some color approaching blonde and they seem to think that one bleach job lasts for life. They don't keep it up and when they have two inches of black "roots" after a few months, oh man does it look hideous! That's the path he's on now.
If he's used chemical straighteners it's even further gone than if he had colored it alone. All of these chemicals -- tints, straighteners, perms, etc. -- are EXTREMELY damaging to the hair shaft, it doesn't matter if it's done by a professional in a salon or by God himself. Whether you want to grow your hair down to your shoulders or down to your knees these chemicals are going to turn your hair into a headful of dried-out straw if overused.
As stated before, dye the lengths to a color approximating your "roots" using a non-peroxide coloring agent.
I actually was trying to suggest a non-peroxide hair colour - I think I got my terms confused....
I've never yet seen anyone successfully reverse peroxide coloured hair to dark shade. So I have my doubts if it can be done, most the attempts I've seen have resulted in Orange hair... or some other whacky unnatural putred shade. Please Prove me wrong, I'm no colour technician what do I know, all I know is I've never seen anyone get rid of peroxide blonde hair like blonde's without cutting.
I know one thing for sure though - HE SHOULDN'T TRY IT HIMSELF.
Back in the olden days they used a technique called double-process or two-step blonding where they would bleach the bejeezuz out of the hair and then put a little bit of color back in. This is the situation Blonde finds himself in now but with the added twist that it's been straightened. There are special tints made especially for this process. Think Marilyn Monroe. BTW, you never saw Marilyn Monroe's hair long did you? This kind of process is for people who keep their hair above the shoulders and get the damaged parts cut off periodically. If you're going to have five years of growth this probably isn't the way to go.
Nowadays the bleaching and tinting processes are combined into one.
Judging from your picture, in another six months your bangs will be down to your chin. At that time you might consider having the rest of it evened out to the length of your bangs, then don't touch it.
What is your goal length?
Why not do something playful or artistic with the blond part, like leopard spots or bumblebee stripes?
.....I thought people on here were nice. I must have been mistaken. I think I'm leaving this place, like anyone cares anyway.
I don't think she was being cruel Blonde. I read this as a reference to the fact that Bleached Hair is by definition Damaged Hair, so she's saying: "Its Damaged... why worry..."
Personally I think your hair will survive to be long and healthy, read Absalom's post there's good advice in there.

Am I just such a bad typist or what?
Oops I said n/t didn't I... so why are you reading this?
Don't listen to her.
Obviously, if you want hair all one color you either have to dye the roots or the rest of the hair. I think your hair looks a little healthier in the latest picture, but after what it's been through, the best advice I can give you is to go to a good salon instead of using any kind of chemicals on your hair yourself. A picture is no substitute for a trained person seeing your hair in person, and I think there's no room for any mistakes at this point. Ask what options you have given the state of your hair, and decide what you want to do.
Once again, good luck! All of us, or most all of us, take the time to write because we do care.
