Hi guys. I've been wondering for a really really long time now about why there're so many different types of combs. These are some of my combs (I buy them in one of those cardboard sets) and I have no idea of their specific functions, ESPECIALLY the pink one in the photo. It's got funny looking teeth (they sort of curve outwards and then converge at the end). I usually only use the white one right in the middle. And why would one use the brush thingie on the right instead of a regular comb? Don't they do the same thing?
Can anyone describe all the functions of each comb?
Love,
Kiat T.
PS: I'll attach a better view of the pink comb if I can... Have to figure out how to attach two photos....
Here's a better view of the pink comb.

The pink comb is a detangling comb and is very useful for curly hair.

I'd imagine the blue one's better for making partings, and the bigger teeth ones are better for gently untangling matted hair from the bottom up (this second opinion was something I was told, so I'm not exactly sure).
Hi Kiat:
The pink one is for detaingling. I use a wide-tooth comb similar to this in the shower, right after I apply conditioner. It works the conditioner through the hair and detangles. I also use it after rinsing and blotting my hair dry with a towel. I don't think the other combs are good to use on long hair, as they tend to yank it.
When my hair's dry I use either a wide-tooth comb or a round brush, both of which do a good job of smoothing my hair out without yanking.
Cheers,
JBC
All those are the cheap plastic 'Goodie' combs that have
the rough seam of stamped plastic. The rough edges can
cause extra wear to your hair. Fine for short hair.
I, umm, also have the white comb and still use it occasionally.
But there are better combs out there, I find the ones that
are cut smooth with no seams are more gentle.
