Hello folks,
I'm one of those people whose hair turns all dry and crinkly if their hair is shampooed/conditioned everyday. I therefore do it every second or third day. The problem is that I go to the gym everyday and I'm starting to go twice daily now and therefore my hair gets dirtier/smelly faster.
I was wondering if you guys know of some sort of rinsing solution that I can use to gently clean my hair and make it smell fresh. I'm thinking more along the lines of a mouthwash but for your hair instead, something that is minty, but not harsh like a shampoo. Sorry if it sounds weird, but I figure that this is probably something I would need rather than just doing a simple plain water wash.
Thanks...
Use a clarifying conditioner (such as Suave Daily Clarifying or White Rain Extra Body) instead of shampoo. It's super cheap. Saturate your hair with it, scrub lightly, and rinse out. I also recommend a detangler/conditioner afterwards.
Shampoos, as you found, are really harsh. Your hair will love this.
Is it a problem if I find that clarifying shampoos make my hair dry as well? I'm using the herbal essences clarifying shampoo, but I guess it's too harsh. I'll tryout your recommendations. Thanks.
I am recommending you substitute clarifying CONDITIONER for the shampoo. The oils in it will cut through any natural oils in your hair. Don't use shampoos except for when your hair is exceptionally dirty. Most shampoos are too harsh to use on long hair on a continuous basis. But clarifying conditioners are not all that good for conditioning, so follow up any wash with a really good conditioner/detangler.
Thanks for clarifying that (no pun intended ;) ). I had no idea that there existed clarifying conditioners. I'll be sure to keep a close eye on the label when I go shop for it.
Thanks!
