Since I've grown my hair long it seems to turn up all over my apartment. I had one of those Kirby vacuum's and it kept rolling the hair up around the beater brush, jamming the thing, and burning out the big rubber band that drives it.
I tried a cannister but it doesn't have the suction. I have to use a nozzle and it only covers a small area at a time. Vacuuming becomes a punishment.
Can anyone reccomend a good vacuum cleaner model and brand that sucks up long hair efficiently without jamming? I need to get one.
Thanks!
interesting problem. i use a hoover & haven't encountered that problem. i do occasionally have to remove hair that has gotten wound up around that brush, but the rubber band remains intact. kirby is an awfully expensive make to have such a cheap part -eh? of course our hair fallout rates may be different & your hair may be longer than mine.
Use it, Johnny! You seem like a reasonably bright guy -- why not show us that your school district wasn't wasting its money when it taught you to capitalize.
ahoy cap'n quickie- it's johnny nocaps here. now let me guess- you're either a shifty character or a capitalist pig- in any case (including upper and lower) my typing style is none of your business. rest assured, my omission of capitals in no way reflects the failure of the educational system; but i can't help but wonder if your self-righteous and condescending post reflects your parents' failure to teach you manners.
Oh no! Not this stuff again! I have had it both ways (quiet you!); where people write their messages IN ALL CAPS WHICH MAKES IT VERY TIRING ON THE EYES AND VERY DIFFICULT TO READ, and I have also seen in done the opposite with everything, and _i_ mean everything, in all lower case. That is not as hard on the eyes but it is just as difficult to read.
So, if you would like your posts to be both more easily read and more clearly understood, how about following the generally accepted rules of punctuation and capitalization? It would be helpful for all.

Because you had the class to ask like a civilized person, I would be happy to make every effort to comply with the generally accepted rules of punctuation and capitalization. Thank you for demonstrating that problems can be resolved with a measure of civility. Please accept my apologies for my previous posts being difficult to read.
Hi! Been busy the past few weeks, so I just saw this today...
John, whatever you decide to do, could you continue to use a lowercase "j" in your handle- it's easy to spot your posts that way, since John is such a common name, and since a unique handle keeps everyone organized? I like the wit and information of your posts; doing this as a "compromise" might be a good solution.
Not a problem.
wHAT aN aNAL rETENTIVE dICK!!!
I have a Singer 7.9 Amp(????) Anyway, although it has rollers, it is so easy to clean and it has never jammed on me like others I've had. You take the bottom off and simply pull out the roller. It has only one belt so there's no major figuring out how to put it back together. I cleaned mine for the first time last week (bought it in 1995!!!!!!). I pulled out enough hair to make a wig. I don't know of any others and this one cost me $60 at Target.

hey.......wow you have hair down to your ass and your 55 thats great i was starting to wounder if i was geting to old for long hair im 46 and have hair allmost half way down my back i realy like it.......your telling me im ok ......thanks
I tried using my mother's ancient Kirby (it was older than me!) to vacuum my apartment just once. It was such a laborious task that I finally understood why she was in a bad mood all the time :-) I got myself a Hoover Dimension something-or-other; it is well designed, well built, and you can service it yourself with a Philip's screwdriver if you are handy.
I think with any vacuum cleaner you are going to get loose hairs wrapped around the carpet beater which you have to unsnarl from time to time.
