At which lenght did you guys start experiencing tangles and knots?
My hair is ca. 6-7 inches, and I haven't had any problems with this yet. Twice I've found some tangles that would've turned to knots, but were quite easy to detangle.
Is this because my conditioner is good, or is my hair just not long enough to have these problems yet?
As I recall from last my hair was long I did have plenty of tangles and knots, but then I didn't use conditioner...
Or maybe I'm remembering wrong, and it wasn't until later.
You are right on target for seeing some knots and tangles, especially with wavy hair, like you have. Your conditioner seems to be working well, and I don't think there is anything to worry about at this time. Absalom
9-10 months which im at right now. My hair is a lot like yours. Those tangles sure are a pain in the a$$. I tend to get them after i wash my hair and let it air dry. I dont know any way of preventing them. Its probly not your conditioner. What i do is take a comb and hold it so lightly that if i hit a tangle while going threw the hair nothing will rip.
I didn't start having a problem with Tangles until February/March this year, this was with about 7-8 inches of hair. I would have though people with curly hair would suffer sooner than people with straighter hair, but if you have it under control then its great.
If you're looking to beat Tangles then I've got some advice:
1) Whenever you wash your hair, use conditioner, not only should it restore the moisture balance of your hair it also prevents tangles and makes your hair easier to brush or comb. If you suffer badly from tangles then you may wish to use conditioner even if you only rinse your hair.
2)Leave in conditioner also helps, this can be applied to dry or damp hair and can help protect your hair as well as reduce tangles.
4)Brush your hair gently morning and night, and between times during the day, why let the tangles build up?
5) If you wake up with lots of tangles, tie your hair in a loose ponytail as you sleep, for added protection tie additional hair bands down the length of your ponytail every 3-4 inches. Alternatively you can tie your hair in a braid. Both help stop your hair from getting tangled whilst you sleep. Obviously this only works for hair which is shoulder length or longer.
