Hi guys, I recently got this job doing film security on the set of the Russell Crowe movie Cinderella Man, here in Toronto. The place I'm at is a neighbourhood at Queen and Broadview (in case anyone here is from Toronto), where they have transformed most of the stores on this one block into 1930's storefronts. It's quite amazing, and the store-owners got paid a lot of money to let this happen.
Anyway, this neighbourhood, which used to be considered bad a few years ago, but has improved a lot lately, has more long-haired dudes than anywhere else I've seen (including the several university campuses I've seen in Canada). Somewhere between a third and a fourth of the guys walking around have long hair. This includes guys up to their late-60s. And I think it's not completely a coincidence that it's a fairly relaxed neighbourhood for the most part.
My job is 12-hour night shifts, basically sitting around (not hardcore security-I can even read while getting paid), so I haven't even been on the computer in a few days.
Any areas or campuses you've seen with a high concentration of long-hairs?
Sorry to go OT but if you can let him know that all of Phoenixville loves his movies.
Yes, UC Berkeley has many longhairs. It is in the San Francisco bay area where the hippie movement originated. Absalom
Queen/Broadview eh? That's where the Opera House is which is where a lot of rock bands play ;) That's what could be bringing in all the longhairs ;)
