I have been having a terrible problem of loss of shine and dryness on my beard (it is about 5" long).
I have been told that the problem can be due to buildup from the shampoo and conditioner that I use.
Any ideas of how to get rid of it?
Also, the hair is colored.
Appreciate your advice.
Steve
Try a "clarifying" shampoo like the ones made by Neutrogena or Pantene. I use the Pantene clarifying shampoo every time I shampoo, about 2 - 3 times a week, and then use Infusium 23 leave-in conditioner (original formula for dry/damaged hair) and my hair is shiny and feels great.
You might try a rinse of apple cider vinegar to get rid of build up from shampoo, conditioner and the additives that your water is treated with.Rinse your hair out well and shampoo after. You still might smell like a salad for a day or two though, but it works. Maybe do it once a month. You might also try weekly oil treatments on your hair and beard if they seem dry. I like sweet almond oil, available at health food stores.
Whatever you do....DON'T CUT YOUR HAIR!! :)
