Sup all.
My question is to people whove spaced there washings out over time as their hair got longer, do you notice more shedding when you do wash it? as opposed to when you used to wash it more frequently.
Hopefully that made sense,
thx.
I do see more, but not twice as much when washing my half as often. I went to washing every 10 to 15 days to cut my losses so I could have the longest hair possible. For the best results you will want to gradually increase your intervals between washings rather than suddenly. Absalom
Thanks.
Yeah Ive gone from washing it 3 times a week down to 2, the shedding wasnt a lot more but it was noticeably more. The dandruff has calmed down a good deal too, and it seems like its less oily over all. Eventually I hope to get it down to just washing it once a week.
I wash my hair about once every five days (thats as long as I can go before I snap and must wash my hair). Funny thing is, as bad as it looks after five days, it always looks worse after I was it. It seems to like its least-worst on the second day.
I notice that I shead a lot when I wash my hair every five days, but I do not think it is more than if I washed my hair everyday. I think my loose hair just builds up when I dont wash it awhile.
In a year my hair might not piss me off anymore. lol

I was also curious about this. Before I got serious about haircare 2 months ago (which unfortunately meant my first 10 months of hair growth went mistreated), I would wash my hair when it got itchy, which was anywhere between 1 and 2 weeks apart. I didn't notice much hair loss then, but saying that I wasn't looking out for it.
For a couple months I've been washing every 4 days for the most part, but recently I've left it 7 days. I didn't notice any difference in wash-related hair shedding, but I did notice that after 4 days more hair fell out during the day when I ran my fingers through it. So from this I've concluded that a single wash knocks out about 4 days worth of telogen-stage hair.
Although my early growth days are abit unclear, I do remember combing through my hair when it was wet, going crazy on it in all directions with only a handful (not literally!) of hairs in the comb. But now, when I comb my hair once it has dried, I can knock out about 20-40, which I never experienced a year ago. Maybe that was because my hair was too short to notice?
So, from what I've experienced personally, I would expect to see more hair loss with more frequent washes as hair length increases. Of course, what I experienced may not correlate with science, and others here will have gotten different results.
I hope I was clear with this. I tend to waffle on and not really make sense.
Matt.
