Hello, this is my first post and im glad to have found such a busy forum to ask my question :)
Today i met my cousin when she was working at the supermarket, and she had her hair all braided, as i have long hair, she kept trying to convince me to try braiding my hair. Im not too sure it would look very good though and figure people would find it funny/stupid. Does anyone have any experience with braiding their hair.
I have gotten my hair briaded several times..its a lil painful at first but its pretty cool looking, you dont have to worry about having hair fly in your face or anything and it keeps your head cool...since its summer n everythin You notice the difference right away..feeling the air rush through your head. Its good to get if you want a lil break from fixing your hair every morning.
I sometimes wear mine in a braid. Not a problem.

Do you mean a single thick braid or lots of thin braids?
I've tried the single braid before though my hair is still just a few inches two short to keep it together. Still... there's no harm in trying...
Awesome Sorted!!
Wow, it really looks great :))
I can imagine the way it will look when your hair gets longer.
Cool Looks better like that you should keep it like that

What, opposed to his normal hair down? No way!!!!
Ha ha ha never intended to say it looked better like that than down as HANG DOWN is the best option but its okay for a different look every now and then :-)
Regards Jon
Better????
I have more strays in that photo than the local RSPCA Animal Sanctuary! It was a rushed effort 2 months ago, but I'm glad you like it. :D
Well maybe not better I prefer mine hanging down not much chance off that as Its to Hot over here :-(
Regards Jon
When you say "all braided", do you mean like sorted's picture, or do you mean in cornrows with dozens of braids?
I get my hair single braided on occaision. I think it is a great style for long hair. If you are talking about cornrows they look cool but they can damage your hair.

I put a braid in my hair all the time. Normally, it's just a simple braid I quickly put in myself to get the hair off my neck. Sometimes, though, I'll get someone else to French braid it for me, as in this picture. I usually don't put a tie in the bottom, but sometimes I do.
Ive braided my hair since it was just midback, and I love it, Whenever Im out and Ive forgotten a hair tie I can always just braid it and its set and out of the way. It has also really helped to keep tangles out when I sleep. Hopefully I can take some pics of it braided to post later.
I braid my hair sometimes. I don't think it looks silly. I'm not into corn rows, but to each his or her own.
Yes, my cosuin wants me to try with thin braids. Ive tryed a single one ( Whatever you call it :-/ ) and it looks pretty good, although im not sure if thin briads would. Thankyou for all your wonderful pictures, all you braids look awesome :) and i will certainly braid my hair a lot more. :)
I braid my my waist length hair all the time.
I love the way it looks.
The only way to find out if it is for you? Just do it as the
ad says.
It's a great alternative to the pony tail.
The best way to find out if Braids are for you is to try it.
Go for one, several, thin, thick. Only after you try it
for a while in different styles can you really see and feel
what is right for you. Experiment with anything and
everything.
I have waist lenght hair and have tried every type of braid
in lots of configurations. Great for work, around the
house, or even on formal occasions like weddings and
funterals.
My husband sometimes braids his own hair frequently, and it looks great. I have another good male friend with extremely long hair (mid-calf length) who braids his hair all the time, tying up the lower 2 feet to be small and tight so it is affixed right at the end of his braid, as these 2 feet are quite thin.
Neither man looks stupid in the least, but this really has nothing to do with their braids or even their hair. It has everything to do with their accepting themselves and feeling comfortable and confident in their own skins, and this radiates from them as they move thru their days. Heck, they could wear frou-frou women's lingerie and still look masculine. It's what's inside that counts. If you behave as though you feel insecure, then that will radiate, too, so it's all about how you choose to perceive yourself and project that to others. :-)
