Ok, I've just returned from the beach and I'm sure serveral people here know what salt water does to hair after swimming in the ocean. BUT, what's strange is that my hair feels soft, not really sticky, and I have the same amount of tangles that I usually have. Let me mind you that I was out of the water a little over an hour ago. I did't take a shower yet, brush it or put anything in it. So any theories or ideas why this happened?
Thanx, later
Tonez
I think it would be really comical if a couple people post here, and then an hour later Tonez comes back and shouts "MY HAIR IS GLUED TOGETHER!" : )
On a more serious note - I'm actually puzzled as to this. Obviously, not everyone's hair is the same, so you may just be from the deep end of the gene pool. Perhaps someone else has a better explanation than random chance.
Ha, yeah that would be pretty funny, and I just hopped out of the shower so now I'm loose and dry. No stick here. Heeeheee :)
I do! there are alot of ions in sea water so they could strip the charge from your hair like a conditioner does so leaving it less frizzy. Its probably a charge thing anyhow. But I would have thought the salt water would cause more damage in the long run...
Weel, with the amount of silicone that's dum ped into the sea, maybe it's just turned into one big ocean of conditioner.
Doubt it though.
Maybe it's like 'Unbreakable' and for the millions whose hair suffers from the sea, maybe yours is like super hair, and it only makes it stronger...
'Course water was Brucey's weakness in that film, so maybe another analogy would be more apt.
I'm out of guesses.
Freak chance maybe? Try it again.

I was reading a "Glamour" magazine and the cover model said her super beauty secret for hair was swimming in salt water oceans. Of course that doesn't really answer your question, but confirms that maybe you're on to something correct. Best wishes. :)
Hahaha, I just got back from Spain, and the Sea is MUCH saltier than over here in the UK, and I'm not sure if it's the excellent powerful shower in the hotel, or the Sun and Swim shampoo and conditioner, or even the cold air conditioning in the bus on the way home, but I barely have any kinks in my hair at all, and normally it's pretty wavy/curly. It's remarkably straight! I think you're on to something.
