does anyone know how longhair friendly Wal-Mart is?
times are tough so it looks like i'm applying there for a job, do you think i will get hassled by them to cut it?

I think I'll try to shop at Wal-mart and Home Depot more often.
No dude, Walmart are quite longhair friendly, where I live in southern California, I have seen longhaired dudes working there, with mid back and shoulder length hair.
Actually most retail allows longhair on men, as long as it is clean and well groomed. In my younger days, working retail, I never had problems with my longhair. At the time it was to my mid back, now that I am working for a large company, I have thick longhair down to my butt, which I have not really had any problem with my hair at work.
I can only speak of the one Walmart 25 miles away from me here on the West Coast. There appears to be at present NO GUYS with short hair at this one as of last Saturday. Most are "Awkward Stage." Some are mid-back. A year ago MOST were "Short Hairs."
I went to Wal Mart last week to buy supplies for my classroom, and a man who works there helped me. His hair was in a tail that stretched almost to his waist. And, as I recall, he also had an earring. This in the Deep South, too.

Judging by my local Wal-Mart it's almost compulsory to have long hair ! - including a goth guy on the checkouts with dyed-black waist-length hair
I am a truck unloader at walmart long hair is not an issue at all. There are also two guys on night crew that have long ass hair. And as an unloader I do have to spend time hawling shit around the store so customers do see me and do ask me questions so long hair is fine.
