Hi all, just returned from a trip out into the West, and am glad to be back. Sorry I missed out on so much.
I have recently begun to wash my hair every other day- and this seems to be doing a good job of keeping it under control. On non-washing days I just wash with water only.
My question is, I am getting into a working out routine, and I'm not sure if the sweat that is produced from my scalp on these days will interfere with whether I should wash it or not? I just feel like after a workout I should wash my hair, as I have been sweating. Does anyone else know a remedy for this problem?
Sid,
I think you have to kind of play around with this and see what works for you. I also work out, and yet I find that washing with shampoo every other day, and water on the off days, works.

I exercise most days. My strategy is to prevent my hair from getting sweaty in the first place. Before I work out I pile my hair into a topknot on top of my head. This keeps the sweat away from the length. The hair near my scalp still gets sweaty but it dries quickly. I only wash my hair a few times a week. In my opinion sweat from the scalp does not cause odor (unlike sweat from other parts of the body). When I work out in a public gym I cover my hair with a bandana to keep it off the equipment. Good luck with your hair growth goals and your exercise program!
I agree with Gollan on sweat not causing odor from working out. I tie my hair in a low pony tail and it doesnt get to bad at all just a little damp in some areas. But as for work my hair gets excessivly sweaty while tied back as this is for 8 hours so then I am forced to wash it. But an hour or so in the gym shoukdnt be to much of a problem and I am a fairly big guy so I sweat a fair amount.
