Hi, I am 16 years old and have always had an interest in growing my hair long. I had let my hair grow for almost 6 months from a short haircut, got a small trim on it (regretfully), and its been about 3 weeks since.
My hair is a light brown color, and its straight with a pretty decent amount of wave to it. Anyway, on the right side of my head, some of the hair closest to my eyes has turned to a lighter blonde color, feels a little harder than the rest of my hair, and sometimes curls in weird ways. Is this split ends? My mom says it isnt, but she doesnt have an answer to what it is. I can never find any splits when I check.
Lately I have been using Mane 'n Tail shampoo and conditioner (horse shampoo), and I really like how it feels. It seems to make these few blonde rough spots in my hair feel softer like the rest, and stay down. I condition my hair well everyday, and I don't really mind if its a little greasy or itchy sometimes (thats good for it, right?)
Well, besides figuring out exactly what these rough spots of my hair are, what do you guys think is the best way to wash/shampoo/condition my hair for it to be the healthiest? Has anyone had any personal experience with Mane 'n Tail?
I just wanted to say thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with my questions. I am pretty new at this, and I really want my hair to be healthy. Thanks again
If you don't see a split then it's most likely not a split end. It's pretty easy. When growing hair out, you might encounter weird things like having hair going 'weird ways'. When I grew mine out, I discovered that despite my straight hair, some strands in the back were actually kinky. I hated it.
I have no idea how well horse shampoo works on people... I have heard of people who use it though. But my take on it is: if you like it then it's probably good. Why not, right? If it works for you then it works for you. Just out of curiousity: how did you come to decide to use horse shampoo?
Don't we all! Welcome to the board!

Thanks, and I'm hoping its just my hair curling in a weird way...

It was a gift to my sister from her friend and came with a high recomendation. I decided to try it, and i've absolutely LOVED it since day 1. Before I used it I also searched the internet for more information about it, and everything I found sounded great
