Does anyone else feel like the world is destroying itself?
It just seems like nothing is like it used to be when I was a young boy.
Just a few days ago, I encountered my third grade teacher, Mrs. Gentry. I was expecting her to be happy to see me, considering I havn't laid eyes on her for 10 years. Instead, she was trying desperately to get away from me and acted like she wanted me to go away. I can't shake the unhappy feeling that if I had short hair, she would have treated me with more dignity.
The past may be indestructible, but I am not, unless I was a HIGHLANDER (There can be ONLY ONE! HA HA HA) Sorry.
But the past hurts me and my future doesn't look incredibly promising. I guess I'll just have to make it work somehow.
I love you guys, thanks for listening.
Ivix, as a teacher and a human being, your story is painful to read. I am sorry this teacher did this to you. I would also ask if you can try to see her as a human being and not as a memory. Her life has gone on, as yours, and you don't know what sadness and difficulties she was facing that day, herself.
Not to excuse rude behavior. I hope your hair had nothing to do with it. Surely, if she is a teacher, she has seen hair in all its varieties. Allow that her behavior was all about her and nothing about you--because, that's always what it is.

Maybe you were such a bad kid. HEEEHEEE ;) jus kiddin
...just exactly WHAT was going on inside her head...and it
probably had NOTHING at all to do with you or your hair.
Sometimes people are going through their own inner turmoil
and are preoccupied with their own problems.
How could any former teacher be so ridiculously rude as that?!
If that was an example of her TRUE character, then she is SHALLOW indeed
and not worth knowing.
But as I said before, it could be something else that is going on in her life...
you just never know.
Try not to let it bother you.
Oh, and about the Future--know this: It is NEVER what you expect it to be!
Good Luck!
I would say that Luckskind is right on target here most likely 100.% His advice and thoughts are not to be taken lightly.........he has great wisdom and common sense.
The world always seems like a much more safe an secure place whilst your a child, and your much less inclined to believe in the inherent evil that exists throughout the world. As you mature you become more streetwise and start to see things for what they really are.
It could have had nothing to do with your hair... after 10 years would she even know who you were? As far as she was concerned you could have been some crazy pyscho axe murderer... (cool huh?)
Best advice I can offer is to slow down and look at your options. Where do you want to be in 3 years time? Is this a realistic goal? Reappraise your goal if necessary and then figure out what you need to do to accomplish this goal and the just do it.
