Everyone is sharing their music abilities, thought I would to.
Classical Guitar, Flamenco
Mac
Indeed! I agree with classical music!!! Sorry I haven't updated my recordings page in a while... I've been deep in some holes lately, and have just started playing again.
I play classical, steel, and electric guitar.
Hey Mac-
Hair looks great at this point. You might have any easy "Awkward Stage" with luck.
Although never performed, (nor published), I composed a "Concerto for Quitar and Orchestra" about 5 years ago. Glad you have musical abilities..............so nice to be able to express part of yourself through the gift of music.

Well I don't poesses enough dexterity to play classical guitar. I play rhythm guitar on Soft Rock Numbers, but I'm really a bass guitarist.
I've not official recordings but here's a link to a cover of All or Nothing by the Small faces with me on bass, it was the first time I'd played the song in about a year and the first time I'd played with my brothers band in about 6 months, the vocals (which aren't mine) are rough as Sandpaper but this was just recorded from a casual jam we had one night but if you care to listen, I'm sure you'll be suitably appalled. :-0
Sorted
Flutist (in training - college level), classical. And sometime pianist, but not really.
Love,
Kiat T.
PS: Also a drunken singer.
that cool, i play Acoustic and some Classical Guitar
but my main thing is vocals, i write and sing Christian Metal
i'm getting set now to record an independntly released album titled "FOREVERMORE"
just to keep this on topic my drummer is starting to grow his hair out and he says that mine inspired him to do so
What style of metal?
I'd be interested in hearing any recordings you have, or that you're going to make!
it's hard to actually get it down into one catagory because most of my songs have VERY dffrent sounds to them
plus i don't see a reason to limit myself to one style
but in genral i'm big on 80's "hair" metal bands and thats the type of style i go for mostly
(Stryper, Bon Jovi, Slaughter etc.) mixed with some harder stuff (metallica style) sound-wise anyway,
although my songs tend to be more serious and a bit on the darker side
i do pretty much all orginals, i just don't feel "it" doing someone elses songs, and honistly if i don't feel "it" then i suck when i start to sing, so it has to come from my heart to actually sound decent and the only ones i feel that right about are the ones that i write
if that makes any sense
anyway man if ya wanna talk music i'm always up to it, just shoot me an e-mail
What types of metal are you looking for?
Depending on type, I might have a lot of suggestions.
Extol is my favourite band and they're just totally awesome, you can check some samples on www.undeceived.net under media.
The two songs are from two different CD's and quite different in style.
Oh my God!!!!! This is the heaviest metal I've ever heared. Jeez!!!!! This is much heavier than Slayer, or anything I've ever heared. This makes Slayer sound a joke. This is really intense stuff, I'm listening to Ember as I write this and I am totally blown away. I checked the lyrics for the song and they do indeed mention Christian beliefs, but they don't really seem to be glorifying Christianity in the way I thought it would.
I'd love to hear more suggestions. Thanks for sharing this with me.
I remember when I first heard them, I thought it was a bit too heavy for my tastes, but I bought the CD (undeceived) anyway, and soon grew to love it!
Other bands:
Tourniquet
Believer
Saviour Machine
Frosthardr
Crimson Moonlight
Antestor
Renascent
If you like 80's metal you should try to get ahold of the "Rage of Angels" CD, it's also very good.
Wow, thank you!! Ember is very heavy, but not too heavy to dislike:)
I don't see it, they are definately not heavier than Slayer. They are sporting more technical sounding song structures with syncopation and a bit more harmonies than Slayer but this is a different style. Basically they sound like a lot of other bands out there. Actually, I'd say they remind me slightly of the band Atheist but not as technically complicated or heavy.
Yea, I agree Slayer and Exctol are different styles, actually what I first wrote was my first reaction. But the harmonies are incredible. I've been into metal for about 3 years now and constantly looking for a style I like. Slayer, Opeth and White Skull have always been my favourites. But Extol is really something different. I've heared the song Inferno by Extol, and towards the middle of the song, there's a small section where 'Cello's, and Violins play, it's just totally unexpected and awesome. Sorry for this to go off topic, and to make a very admittedly feeble attempt to keep it on topic, I love your hair!
Thanks for the compliment.
The use of other instruments like violins and flutes was a bit of a trend that started in the mid 90's. It was mainly Blackmetal/Doom Metal bands with slow tempos or "folk" metal bands from Northern Europe that incorporated this almost contrary sound into their music. Before that every once in a while speedmetal and death metal bands could be heard using a classical orchestra sound or piano intro in one or two songs to contrast with their fast and heavy sound while trying to tip their hat to the genius of the classical masters. I was in a speedmetal band in the early 90's and before every show we would play an intro of Gregorian Chant.
You may also pick out Operatic vocals included in some songs by heavy bands which can be a nice touch in the right place. Many heavy bands now are using keyboard parts to add a tone and bottom end. The options are wide open.
Like I said, the band Extol seems to be cueing off of other bands which in itself isn't a bad thing but often characterizes what many xian music acts do. Imitate the secular market in all it's forms to try and get some of the audience, supposedly to try and gain converts or at least entertain it's already converted.
