Folks,
On another bulletin board, I have participated in a survey that allows you to tell people what you like, what your interests are, etc. On that other board, there was a tremendous amount of participation. It seems people that share a like interest, are very, very interested in finding out what else they have in common with their fellow board members. Below is that same survey, adapted for this forum:
The survey questions:
1) Where are you located?
2) How old?
3) Marital status/partnership/kids/grandkids?
4) Profession?
5) Current hair style/color/etc ?
6) Current hair goal (if any)?
7) How long with longhair?
8) Hobbies/Pasttimes
9) Favorite TV show
10) Favorite Music/Band
11) Currently reading
12) If I could take a vacation/trip anywhere (or when), I'd go to:
My answers:
1.) Chicago IL
2.) 49. Yeah, I still don't believe it. (Did anyone see where my life went?)
3.) Partnered. No kids, but certainly a definite possibility
4.) Facilitator/Analyst. I work for a software firm and my primary responsibility is to do data-specific (i.e. database) analysis. However, as a trained facilitator, I am often involved in other meeting topics
5.) Salt and pepper hair, fairly straight, falls to approximately mid-back. Am still in the process of getting all the layers out. Refer to the picture I posted 2 weeks ago celebrating my 3-year mark
6.) No goal just trying to find ways to live with this thick forest that grows from my head
.
7.) 3 years
8.) Im a dancesport hobbyist. I do ballroom, Latin, and even some Country/Western couples dancing. Although I have competed, I prefer to do exhibition dancing. I do both pro-am as well has have a new amateur partner. In addition to dance (which eats up a lot of time and money), I also love to travel, bike, and read sci-fi and fantasy
9.) Not watching as much TV these days (Damn! I miss Farscape!!!). Mostly reruns of CSI and Law and Order
10.) I listen to a huge variety of music (except for [c]Rap and Reggae) I dont have a favorite group at the moment, but my all time favorite band has been the Moody Blues (yeah, yeah, dont tell me, youve never heard of them
)
11.) Fordors guide to Scotland planning a trip there next month
12.) Tuscany I want to see the country of my roots
Looking forward to your answers! - William

Single. (when you're single your pockets jingle) :)
Translations analyst/network tech. Basically I monitor a national telecomm network, work with city ops, vendors, etc., to resolve network issues. I also handle setting up new equiptment installs remotely; oversee projects that might impact the network, etc.
Short blond hair.
Hair about shoulder blade length in back and sides. No perms, dreads, etc., just going natural with the style.
I had it before between ages 17-21 but then cut it. When I get to be a longhair I hope to keep it as long as I like it and God lets me.
I've been playing the drums since age 7. I've taken about four years of private lessons. Been playing pro since age 19. I'm trying to get back into a band situation and play out live just for the fun of it. I also like just about anything to do with PCs, telecomm, or long-legged brunettes.
That's a tough one. Either the Simpsons or Star Trek: The Next Generation.
I guess my fav music is either progressive rock or hard rock/metal. My fav bands are RUSH, King's X, Iron Maiden, Queensryche, old YES, old Peter-Gabriel era Genesis, Zeppelin, Guns n' Roses, Judas Priest, Def Leppard... and too many more to list but these are pro'lly my most fav.
Just got done reading the last of the original The Bourne series books by Ludlum, the The Bourne Ultimatum. Now I'll go see the movie versions.

Oh, and I like to dabble in the fine art of Shakespeare sounding talk. For example, a little addage to a friend on another forum:
Oh, poor Longpoop, I knew it well. For it was a jestor in mine court for long a time, keeping my bowels entertained untill long whence forth this grave was dug and as I eradicated myself of the beast I cried out, "Oh Longpoop, Longpoop, wherefore art thou Longpoop? Canst thou not be Shortandsweetpoop?" Calm bowels, calm bowels, my kingdom for calm boweels!
That last word should be bowels, not boweels. They don't roll easily. Or maybe it's Bo-WEEEEEEEEEEEEEls!
Yay! another Yorkshireman in here. You ever been to Castleford? It's a total dump, isn't it

Hey, I've been through there. Hiked the Lincoln trail from Lincoln, IL to Springfield a few years back. Kinda strange all these Illinois references for this post...
I'm an hour's drive from Springfield. I've toured Lincoln's home there, but haven't seen his gravesite.

LOL! It's not like I was going anyplace exotic. The distance is comparable to a trip from Belfast to Galway.
To Wolfeyes primarily, is it a nice place? Are there lots of romantic beaches there LOL?
Well yeah, it's a lovely place, though I guess it wouldn't be as special to me since I live over here and its pretty much normal to me.
But yeah, I'd recommend that everyone come over and see this place at some point in their lives. What a great country :)
...apart from all the crap with religion and bombs ans stuff.
I wish I could suggest something, but I just moved out here about a year ago and I STILL can't find my way outta Kalamazoo! I love living here but I've never been so lost in all my life!

16", brown, hangs straight near the top, but waves and curls at the ends. OK, there's one or two greys in there, and when I let the beard grow it's got greys on the side. Without a beard I get carded in bars, with one I don't. Although I haven't had a drink in several years, I get dragged to places where they card everybody sometimes. I'm not a recovering alcoholic. I quit because of some meds I was on, and decided to stop for good even though I could have a little now if I wanted.
I've been saying I'll stop at waist length, but it's not a firm goal. I've been known to change my mind on a lot of things.

The internet and my own source code. Really. There just isn't much time for other stuff. I'm too much of a nerd anyway. I probably ought to spend the rest of my life hiking or something to balance that out. Yeah... retire and become a trail bum. That's the plan. :)

Ah! In Pinehurst - golf capital of the Tarheel State...
Calling North Carolina the Tarheel state originated, of course since I'm saying it, in the Civil War. The Virgian troops and North Carolinians often joked with eachother over who was the better fighter and since North Carolina always had nice tarred haversacks, gum blankets and knapsacks (best supplied state in the Confederacy by far) the Virginians tried to mock that saying, "Do you have anymore tar in North Carolina?" They'd quip back, "No, we used it all up helping you to stick in the last fight!" Then they'd call the Virginians "sorebacks" because they'd run over their back trying to get into battle. North Carolina was not huge on seceding but when the South was invaded they were the second best fighters, Virginians always being the best, though in truth they were all Americans, both sides and thus the best of the best (alongside of Britain, Germany and the French at the time, though they're quite soft now)

Christina Aguilera? You crazy Canucks! ;-D Just kidding. Seeing you collect swords I have a nice one worth about fifty bucks. Want it for thirty dollars? I'd be glad to give it to ya' for that price as a friend. America and Canada, united into one strange little force called Camericana.
I had no idea you were married. Next survey should be for the married guys.
1. how long married?
2. long hair before or after?
3. long hair during the wedding ceremony? (there is a lot of pressure to be very traditional for that)
4. if long haired after marriage, who's idea was it and how was it received?
It's inspiring to singles to know that women are out there for us.
It would also be cool if you posted couples pix, but it's understandable that wives may want to stay private.
Well, I'm a married gal with a longhaired husband. Is that okay? ;-)
8 months, but I've known him for 20 years, LOL.
Before and after, for both of us. :-) His is mid-back length, freshly trimmed yesterday evneing, per his request for me to take off "...oh, and inch or so." I took off just an inch.
Our ceremony was held in City Hall in the beautiful main atrium, under a tall fig tree. Both of us had our long hair down and flowing!
There was never any question that our hair remains as we prefer it individually. Since we both prefer long hair on ourselves and each other, long hair stays!
To an extent that's true, but mostly I just really dig my husband. Can you tell? However, he claims that he digs me even more (wowie!). :-)
I have done this before somewhere... let me go find the link.

It's not exactly "couples pix," but you can see the hair. The first photo is about 3 years old, his image from his band's "money shot," as he calls it, LOL.

Wow! You have incredible hair. Your husband's looks great too, but your length, color and fullness are just breathtaking. Thanks for sharing.
Awwww! Congrats on your marriage. I should get you something. Eight months is what, the rooster anniversary? ;-)
