Hello, I just decided to start growing my hair back. I had it long during most of High School, but for graduation and college interviews my mom said I "had to cut it." I used to get compliments from my friends about it, and now I'm getting people asking why I decided to cut it! Agh! I loved my hair when it was long, it's a wavy blond hair that looks good long. I've got a long face to, so having my hair long tends to widen my face which is good. When it's short it gets really frizzy and curly, I hate it.
Anyway, let this serve as a warning to you, don't let them cut it!
Oh yeah, does anyone have any advice on hair vitamins or anything to speed up the growth?
Theres not much..some people have found meditating to work and some alternate methods.. for the most part your best bet would just be eating healthy maybe vitamins and what not. Other then that, patience :(
Congrats on deciding to do what YOU want to do with your hair. I know how it can be when you're living under someone else's roof (your parents) but if you try to talk it out rationally sometimes this works. Don't give into the old cliches of "you'll look like a girl", or "you must be a homosexual", etc. You already had long hair at one time so you may be used to getting that crap. Keep to your goals and good luck.
I've read about a supplement called "Hair, Skin, and Nails". It's sold in places like GNC drug/vitamin stores here in the USA. Though it was mainly created for women men take it, too. I just started taking it this past Friday. I don't feel wierd :-) or anything. I also haven't noticed any particular quickened hair growth yet but I'm looking every day and am going to start a photo journal tonight after I get batteries for my camera. I think I bought a bottle of about 60 pills for $12.
I wouldn't hold out too much hope for vitamins to help speed up the growth of your hair. I would imagine the most you could expect from them is healthy, stronger hair. If you don't already know, watch out for excessive Vitamin A intake - that can cause hair loss.
Good luck with your hair growth though.
Matt.
