I'm starting college at Sandhills Community College tommorrow. I'm excited, to say the least. Soon I'll have a job and a vehicle and a liscense and.. ohh (gets chill bumps). Some time soon I'll be able to escape the Hell and start having FUN again.
Note that there is a difference in enjoying yourself and having fun. I enjoy myself just by being me, but I havn't actually HAD FUN in a long time. Maybe soon I'll meet that special someone.
Oh, but to tie it into the subject, I may be able to get a job in the cafeteria. But if they tell me to cut my hair, I'll turn them down. That would mean I wouldn;t get $100 a week, but it's worth it to have long hair!
Peace guys!

Awesome, I've been going to Front Range Community College and have to say that for starting out, CC is the best way to go. As far as cafeteria work is concerned, there a few longhairs working in the position at my school (though they must wear a net).
I agree. I think going to a community college for the first two years is the best route to go. It's better both academically and financially. I attended a community college for my first two years then finished at the University of Texas.
As for the job, my motto is to never sacrifice your principles for financial gain. Your principles matter more than money. Besides, for everyone who won't hire you with long hair, there's someone who will.
Like Falmarin said, it may not even be an issue.
Good luck and keep us posted.
Good luck to you. I know you will have to work hard but do try to have some fun along the way.
with everything that lies ahead of you!
Try not to let anything worry you; go with the flow...
I still have to finish my last two years of High School and I'm going to make them my best years. I'm happy that you found a college to go to also. I hope you find that special person! =)
Good luck!
PS. Also good luck on getting the cafeteria job! I'm sure they'll hire you! =)
Congrats Ivix,
Glad to hear your taking positive decisions about your future.
If the job works out, then great, but $100 a week certainly not worth a haircut, not when there are jobs which will pay more and let you keep your hair :-).
Stay cool...
