Well guys, I've been a member here since 2000 and never posted a pic. Here they are (will put in three posts under each other). I am 44, married 22 years, three children, and a Latin teacher by day, licensed massage therapist by afternoon!
My hair is mid-back. Last spring in got long enough that it was catching on the backs of chairs when I sat down, which I found irritating, so I had it trimmed to just above it's current length. I like this length and will probably maintain here.

With hair forward.
wow, you look great! if I saw you on the street i'd think you were in your 20's ;)
Thank you! I have inherited some nice genes! When I was in my 20's I first grew facial hair to avoid being mistaken for a teenager. A few years ago, I shaved completely (my face!) and began being carded when I bought beer and wine at the grocery store where I had shopped for 12 years.
Genes aside, longhair does take some years off.
Robert
Hi,
do you have any pics of when you shaved your face? You should post them if you do. Someone in an earlier posting said you should never shave your goatee, and for now I agree, but I might change my mind if you post some more pics!
Peter.
Really really great hair. Awesume! Luckskind made an earlier comment about "contrast." I couldn't agree with him more. BRAVO!
Thanks, Justin!
Here's a side view.

Here's the side view. Sorry about the blank.
Looking good. Absalom
Robert...good pics but they do not show the actual length of your hair...do you have any pre-trim shots as well as after...showing the length?

Here's the back.
somewhat remind me of an Elizabethan Englishman; you have that 'look' about you.
A combination of your looks (face), earring & hair, I suppose!
Anyway, your hair is a good color, and the fact that it is a bit lighter than your goatee,
provides contrast and is more interesting to look at.
The length of your hair immediately identifies you as a Longhair. Smooth texture, mostly straight but with just enough waving.
Great pics! Thanks for sharing!
Good Luck!
Thanks for the kind words! I have Irish, Welsh and Scottish ancestry, as well as a bit of Native American, so that gets me in the realm of Elizabeth, doesn't it?
Robert
Is it just my IMAGINATION or do half the members on this board
have NATIVE AMERICAN ANCESTRY?!
Seems like every other person makes that claim. And though
I do not doubt it, I'm just wondering WHAT IT MEANS!!!
My N.A. ancestry is miniscule. It was almost completely supressed in the family--most would deny it even now. I have always identified with certain aspects of N.A. culture and when I found the tiny evidence it helped me understand myself a bit more. I think that when longhaired men find that they do have N.A. ancestry, it's another link to self-understanding.
Robert
It means we had ancestors who were from the nations and tribes of indigenous dwellers who lived in the Americas before this land was ever called that name. I have Algonquin blood in me from my dad's side, as my great-great-great grandmother was from that group of people. It is not surprising to Americans that many fellow Americans can make this claim, especially if their ancestors came to the Americas before 1850 or roughly thereabouts. Mine came over in the 1600s.
It is an odd term, though, because technically, everyone who was/is born on this soil or from American parents is a native American, following the strict definition of the words. I've also learned that some of these groups do not like being called "Native American," but prefer "American Indian."
As it relates to long hair, many of these original cultures prized and cherished long hair as part of their cultural identities. Both men and women often wore their hair long, so these groups tend to come to mind when discussions about long hair arise. The stereotype is of of healthy, natural, long, black, flowing hair.

Yeah, actually you look very similar to Shakespeare, or atleast his portraits. He even has the earring.
That's one reason I'm amazed when guys in particular (or even women too, although it's less uncommon for females to have very long hair) grow their hair way past waist level, certainly far enough below that that they even end up sitting on their hair when using a chair.
Hair looks great!
Nice hair! A solution to the chair problem is to put a pillowcase or towel over the back of the chair.

Here I go with the comparisons again:
A guy involved in the wrestling business.
John Turturro, who played 'Jesus' in The Big Lebowski. We already have a Jeff Bridges lookalike, I wonder who else from the movie we can get on here.
Nice hair Robert. It's cool to see a Latin teacher. I studied Latin a few years ago at school, I enjoyed it alot. I've forgotten it all now though.
I hope I still have hair in my 40s, nevermind hair like yours!
Matt.
.... for using that guy's photo. Obviously that first photo looks nothing like you, here is the link to the photo:
Thanks Matt. And nah, you've not forgotten any of it. It's in the hard drive. You just haven't accessed it in a while!

Hey Robert!
Great hair and I think your goatee's cool as well. Thanks for posting!
