hey everyone, im thinking of getting my hair 'shaped'. i really cant stand it anymore! ive been growing it for a year and a half now and always wear it loose(I dont look good with a pony tail). anyway, it looks good in the front and it looks good in the back, but on the sides it looks like sh*t! its very square-ish(front is much shorter than the back) and the back starts off ok but gets thicker and fluffier as you go down towards the back... i feel like such a redneck :(.
what do you guys think i should do? is there any styling product that can help me and, if not, how should i get it cut?
If you are able to post a picture, then opinions on this would be alot easier. For now, I am "guessing" that the "Awkward Stage" still hasn't ended yet for you. Until the posting of your Hair Photo (if that be possible for you) Please don't cut until you get Hyperboard opinions. If there is something to be done................this is the place where someone will help figure it out for you.
Besides what Justin said, I think you probably look much better in a ponytail than you think.
it depends on your goal length really, if you want a long but tidy 'fashionably' look then get it thinned out and shaped, it really makes it look much better, you wouldnt have to loose any length this way apart from the shaping bit. However if you want to grow it right out you'd have to bare with it, and maybe try some products to tame it, something like tigi catwalk catfight to add a bit of control/shine. I'd rec' you try a styling product and have fun.
thanks for the suggestions, guys. i found a solution... for now.
the reason my hair did that was because the shampoo i was using made my hair fine and if i were to use a styling product it would grease it down. so, after I had posted my message i decided to do something about it... i broke out the paul mitchell extra body and the matrix biolage balm and got to work. its funny as i always stayed away from both of these products because they were either for special occassions or I just didnt like them.
so now the 'puffy', unkept look i was trying to stay away during my bad hair phase is the only way I can prevent another one.
(I dont look good with a pony tail)
Year and a half, and you can make a pony tail? Lol, dude, for an year my fringe is only somewhere about the middle of the ears?
Well I'm only 9 months in and my bangs already reach my teeth, and I started from basically nothing. He must grow fast hair!
