I wish to know when you began to grow your hair to the incredible length it is now, and also how much conditioner you use.
I think I started growing my hair about 1992. I am using Aussie Moist. I apply maybe 2 teaspoons every time I wash my hair. I wash only once every 10 to 14 days which (for me) is key to getting maximum length. Frequent washing (at least for me) causes more shedding and damage. I use silicone products very sparingly do reduce tangles. My hair is maybe 60% straight with the other 40% being curly and wavy, which is not ideal to grow long due to the tendancy to knot and tangle. For this reason I keep my hair in a segmented tail (rope) nearly all the time with 9 hair ties at 4 to 5 inch intervals along its entire length. Without using these methods my hair would probably not be able to grow past the middle of my back. Absalom
Lol, I don't know why, but every time I see your name, I say Absolam, instead of Absalom!
Hey Absalom you saw my picture the other day. I would like to grow my hair to mid or lower back. To achieve this would I have to take on your type of hair care schedule or is that mostly for going to waist and beyond?
Hi Nige, what is key to getting the maximum length is to keep your losses to a minimum. Protecting your hair by braiding or using multiple soft cloth hair bands will likely help to cut your losses if your hair tends to knot or tangle like mine does. I ride a bicycle to stay fit so my hair is subjected to sustained winds in excess of 10 meters per second. If your hair is not prone to knotting and tangling you probably do not need to take such precautions. I am giving generic advice here since there are too many unknowns (hair type, texture) here.
