hey guys
i saw a shampoo a while back at a grocery store/plaza type of place
they had a shampoo for wavy/curly hair that said it was a hair straightening shampoo, it also had its own conditioner (not leave in)... and the brand also had other shampoos for normal hair, fine hair etc.
well, the shampoo and conditioner for hair straightening appealed to me since i want straight hair till below my ears, and i plan on buying them
but will it make me go bald or anything?
P.S: i forgot the brand and name of the shampoo, i'll try to get the name and post it here later
Thanks!
This is only my (unprofessional) opinion, but I don't think these products will make you go bald. If there are no chemicals in them to permanently alter the structure of your hair, you should be okay. (Of course I'm not saying they'll be good for your hair, either.) However, I've yet to see or try a shampoo and/or conditioner that makes your hair totally straight without quite a bit of help from a blow dryer or flat iron. These haircare products may smooth your hair and temporarily relax the curl, but nothing short of a full-on chemical process will make your hair totally straight. (Even the flat iron I use and swear doesn't give me stick-straight hair.) In short, be sure to read the instructions on the products to see if you're willing to put in the necessary time and effort required to get the full effect. If you go with them, please let us know your thoughts, as product reviews are always welcome!
Good luck!
Jeremy
My own experience with that stuff, my father bought some 'hydra smooth' shampoo from Garnier that should make hair smooth.
When I was in England I needed some conditioner, and the only one in the store where I looked said something like "3 times smoother!"
Now, neither of these products have any effect on my hair, not separately, nor together.
Maybe it works if your hair is just wavy?
I saw a shampoo in my local chemist called Sunsilk, they have shampoo's conditioners and leave in's for normal, damaged, and colored hair. The television ad claims to smooth out kinks for you, and since my hair is loaded full of kinks, I thought I'd use it. I've only used the shampoo twice, but it did more or less nothing to my hair, my Aussie moist does a much better job. I experienced excellent results with the leave in conditioner though, I've nearly used the whole bottle up, and it really does work. I'm not aware of the damage, and apart of just clarifying every few weeks, this is fine stuff to use. Look for SunSilk leave in conditioner, its a purple bottle.
Do you know what hair serum is? its a silicone based solution you apply to your hair after washing/cond when its wet to smooth it (which will straighten it). Anyways thats how these shampoo's work, they load your hair with heavy silicones to smooth it and thus is goes straighter. They wont make you go bald!.... but they will cause buildup if you dont rotate them with a clarifier.
