About 4 years ago I tried growing out my hair and never drank ANY Water. My hair seemed to take forever to grow and would always become brittle and dry even tho I washed it. Now about 11 months ago I gave up soda pop and ALL sugar. Now I only drink water, nothing else but about 200 ounces a day and my hair is silky smooth shiny and growing incredibly. People with hair problems should try it. As an added bonus I've since dropped about 40 pounds from not consuming any sugar!
Why not just buy some Miracle grow, sprinkle it on your head, and believe it makes your hair grow faster? Trust me, the results would be the same.
Seriously, drinking water is good for you. It does not, however, make hair grow faster. Also, 200 ounces a day is a bit excessive unless your body needs it (lots of physical activity, for example). The average person needs a lot less, and should not drink 200 ounces a day.
Water helps grass and plants grow, not hair.
Your logic is backward: NOT drinking enough water slows down hair growth. The speed at which your hair is now growing is probably the healthy rate after you started drinking a good amount of water.
That is... basic thought.
Congratulations (both on weightloss and hairgrowth)
I've dropped sugary soda, in favour of diet ones, and dropped 50 pounds as a result, but my hair is pretty much the same.
Perhaps a bit curlier now, but I doubt it has anything to do with that.
I'm thinking there must be some other factors involved.
All this said, water is good for you, so I'm not trying to against you :)
Funy you should say that, I drink litres and litres of water a day, as well as 1-2 cups of tea or coffee, but my hair definately grows faster than average. Glad to hear someone has these results by drinking water, you could well be right.
