From a couple of sources now I've heard that soy contains an enzyme or something that can prevent the balding process. They say it reduces a part of your testosterone that is responsible for hair loss. In addition they say it reduces the chance of some types of cancers. I did'nt think anything of it until I heard it a second time. Has anyone else heard of this? I would really like to know.
Thanks guys

just have a good nutrition overall, there's no magic product...
and don't overeat soy - it causes hypothyroid problems in some people. Hemp seeds are easier to digest, and contain so much nutriments in them that it would be unwise to not eat them every day... (they are an excellent source of omega 3 (and 6, in the right proportion for humans))
i suggest you eat eat raw organic soy beans instead of roasted beans/tofu. just soak them or, even better, sprout them!

Yeah, I did'nt want to try it, I was just wondering if you've heard anything like that.
Thanks

I sure wish hemp-seed bread could be found at the grocery store. Unfortunately the populace is too busy watching television to learn that the fascist food industry isn't in the business for our health. So it's business as usual.
Yeah, right. The "enzyme or something" is a compound which is very much like the female hormone estrogen. Definitely not something a guy wants to take in excess, even if it does reduce hair loss.
All of the miracle effects they were telling us about 5 years ago have turned out not to be true. Soy is just a food.
Keep your soy intake moderate, and see a specialist for hair-loss treatments.
I did'nt know whether to believe it or not. Just something I heard on the radio.
Thanks anyway

Apparently there's some truth to the rumors. Some people, upon digesting soy, produce a chemical known as "equol". This molecule has the ability to "reduce" the effectiveness of Di-hydro-testosterone (DHT - the main hormonal component implicated in hair loss, among other maladies). I believe WebMD is a fairly reliable source, so you can try visiting their site and search for terms like Soy and DHT
I lived in Japan, where the daily diet includes LOTS of soy, and I still saw plenty of bald(ing) men. :)
