At school and wherever I go it seems like I'm surrounded by guys with really short hair...sometimes I kinda like being the only one but then sometimes I don't. The other day I went to apply for a job and everyone had short hair cuts, inlcuding the manager..so I was pretty hesitant. Does anyone else ever get this feeling?

Nope, I don't mind most of my friends who have short hair, but my friends with long hair are all cool and make much better company.:)

May you should use some means of reverse psychology and tell every one to ...grow your hair. Grow your hair.
actually i'm constantly surrounded by guys with short hair, and I don't even think about the fact that mine is longer. None of my friends have long hair but it doesnt make a difference really, that's why they're my friends I guess :P Also when I first started growing mine I thought about it alot more, but not anymore (1 month away from 3 years now :D)
Having had lomg hair for most of my life, I'm not so self conscious about it as I was years ago when it was first long.
I would guess that as time goes on, you will be less aware of your hair being different to that of Mr Average and that will increase your confidence at interviews. Try to cultivate an interview technique, be yourself, and knock em dead.
I am growing my hair because I want to for a variety of reasons. One of which is to be different. Everyone and their brother has short hair these days and everybody looks the same, hair-wise. I am starting to see more long haired guys, though they mostly seem to be teens and early-20s. Regarding the interviews, let the other guy bring up the hair issue. If he/she makes a big deal of it I'd ask why. If you feel you would be uncomfortable then look elsewhere for a job. Good luck.
Just keep on keeping it. I always think to myself like "since when does the constitution state that guys must wear their hair short?". once your hair gets even longer, you will be prund of yourself for your accomplishments.
