Ok folks, 10 months now without a cut of any kind. Sorry about lighting in the pics. I'll try to do better ones next time. Gives you all a rough idea of length though.
Any comments good or you know what, welcome! (try to keep my nose size to a minimum though)
I'm trying to get a web page put together from when I was a skin head, just taking a bit of time finding the photos. Can't seem to find any!

ok im going to be honest - *lowers head* "thats sorta cheating, you've left the bottom back layer to grow down your neck (without the top layers having caught up), it makes your hair look longer but its not as long if you know what I mean. I'd cut the very back to neaten it up if I where you, that way you'd have the 'im growing my hair longer' look as opposed to the 'I need a haircut' look. You should really (if you want it to grow out and look tidy at the same time) allow your upper layers to grow out and not really grow the lower layers in excess until the top ones arent far off the same length, otherwise it can look a little bedragled.... I like the colour tho."
The front is longer than you think, it actually comes down to the middle of my lips. I know this may sound a bit funny but I do not like very neat hair, well I do like neat hair but... arrrhhh can't explain this.... I like it to bit a bit on the wacky side if you know what I mean?!!!
Sure I get what you mean, you want your own style, but I honestly do think it would look 'better' if you got an inch - or so off the bottom of the back.... thats just me, neat freak : ) but its whatever your compfortable with.
Actually ste, thinking about what you said more carefully you’re actually the first person to say that I should get a trim. I do think to my self sometimes, 'maybe I should get a trim' but that gets ruled out very quickly by the 'I can't be bothered' part of my brain... yea I know, I'm that bad! Even if I was ganged up on by everyone on this forum and all my friends and family, I'll be like OK, OK, I'll get a trim. But then It will be like, oh I can't be bothered now!!
Besides if I did get a trim my mum would kill me!!! She wants me to grow my hair long (yea crazy!!??!!) I'm not sure if she'll be happy!!!

It helps to see before-and-after photos. I can't say definitely, but I think you'll look good with long hair, just as I think a shorter hairstyle works well on you too.
You said you can't be bothered getting a haircut nowadays. Back when you kept your hair short, was it less of a nuisance keeping it trimmed then?
And your mother wants you to grow your hair long?! If you've always had short hair until now, was that because you preferred that style, or was it because the people around you (family, friends) said or implied it was better that way?
Sort hair does suit me quite well indeed but at the same time look really mean! Like a thug. Long hair seems to suit me just as well. I have many photo's but I need a scanner to put them on computer.
I've always wanted really long hair all my life. I used to have quite long hair when I was really young at random times, but just kept on ending back as a skin head!! I really can't explain how or why. I was too young then.
From when I was about 15 up until 10 months ago. (I'm 22 BTW)I had a skin head that would grow to about 5 inches long, then back at skin head again; I used to shave it off myself. Throughout this time I always wanted long hair but...... (this is getting hard to explain now) I really don't know what kept me having a skin head, it was probably just my teenage mind?!!
I would have 5-6 inches of hair on my head, my mom would go shopping, come back from shopping, then look at me and all of it's gone. She would then be F'in and blinding....... I think she don't like me with short hair because even though it suits me, I look like trouble and at the same time she new that I wanted long hair.
When I shaved my hair it would just be left to grow to 5-6 inches because of the 'can't be bothered to cut my hair' but I just can't think to way I kept cutting it again. No one would ever tell me to get hair cut or anything, aaaaarrrrrhhh writing this is driving me crazy now, I don't know what the hell I writing now.
Cut a long story short. I'm a serious heavy metal/rock person, play guitar in band and so forth, short hair suited me but didn't suit my mind. If you know what I mean. I did like how the sort hair looked, but just didn't like short hair it's self.
I've never actually seriously asked my mum why she encourages me to have long hair..... I'll ask her later when I see her and let you know. I always imagined it to be as explained above.
Sorry if this all sounds so mixed up..... I've just figured everything out.... it's because I never know what hell I'm doing!!???!?!?

You're not alone. Unless you visited this forum a few months ago, you wouldn't know about a frequent contributor here who seemed very, very committed to a longhair style. He even put all this work into showing his progress photos on a web page called "longhair kicks ass." However, for some reason, and after having grown his hair quite long, he decided to go back to a short hair style at the last minute.
I think lots of people are like you and him, where constant change is just the way things are.
With your hair long, your nose size is a non-issue. The size is not noticeable from the front...and, when you are viewed from the side, your hair's wave pattern creates a nice balance to your profile.
