hey, my hair has become a bit of a pain this month, so I have been thinking for a good two weeks now if maybe I should get a small trim. Would that help my hair?
Also, where would I get one. I live in Miami and all I always see is ghetto barbershops, where scissors is a four letter word. Where would be the bet place to get one?
Hi Blind Panzer
A small trim can give your hair a little shape back, which can be lost whilst growing out, but with any trim you will always loose a little length, (that is the big drawback). If you feel you really need a trim, focus on the lower layers, (back and sides), leaving the top well alone as this is where you need the length more than anything else.
I did a similiar thing when I was growing out, but its important to be very specific about your goals to your stylist
EG:
"I'm growing my hair long, but I need a bit of shape putting back into it. Leave the top well alone, and just take 1/2" to 1" off the back and sides and give it a little shape back."
As to where to go in Miami, I dunno, I'd look for a Unisex Salon anywhere where you feel like you are being listened to. Go and speak to the stylist before hand if you like. Instantly write off any Salon where you can walk-in and sit down and wait. Appointment only. And try and get a recommendation from someone you know who appears to have really good looking hair. A girl ideally!

Thanks!
