i got curly hair and ive been growing it out for about 4 months now and ive seen peoples with great curls using spray gel any suggestins on how to use it or what kind to buy
For great curls if rec paul mitchel stlying glaze, its not a spray tho... Also there is aveda light element finshing solution which people use as 'gel' for curly hair. Both should be used on wet hair. I'd also rec mop c system poo/cond as it has high humactant lvl so it would help define curls by hydrating more so less friz.
I don't personally use spray gel, but for certain formal occasions (weddings, funerals, etc.) I will put a small amount of conditioner in my hair after I've showered and before my hair is completely dry. This acts like a normal gel, but doesn't damage the hair, though it can flake kind of bad, depending on the conditioner.
I would suggest for the most part to just let it go and do its own thing, rather than trying to control your hair. With curly hair, trying to control it is a losing battle, and one that is hardly justified either.

I, too, have very curly hair. When I want it to curl, I use either Loreal Melting Gel or Infusium 23 Leave In Conditioner. After applying either, I comb my hair with a wide toothed comb and then let it dry.
L'Oreal Liquid Spray Gel. And for my hair at least, it's a wonderful product.
I also use (in varying amounts) L'Oreal MELTing Gel.
This is a excellent product with truly unique properties.
In fact, if were up to me, I wouldn't even call it a gel at all!
I use it more like a hair DRESSING. You can use it on wet, damp or
even dry hair. And
depending on the amounts used, you will get all kinds of wonderful results.
MELTing gel is an absolutely wonderful DETANGLER! And I'll bet
many people do not know that about this product.
I was having lots of trouble with tangling and little knots
UNTIL I started using this product specifically for the purpose
of DETANGLING!
So whenever my hair is in a 'bad state' and is very prone to
tangling or knotting, I work lots of the MELTing gel into
the last several inches of my hair...and then I gently COMB (not brush) my hair.
And if I 'freshen up' my hair with this product in the morning
(that is, I add more gel to my dry or slightly damp hair),
I can usually go three days without washing and still have
well-behaved and fantastic looking hair!
Now, I am not saying that this product is 'right'for everyone,
but for me it is a miracle product (along with the Liquid Spray Gel).
Good Luck on your Journey!
