I have wanted to have very long hair for a long time. I have been unable to because of my extremely strict job dress code. I saw a kid (12 to 14 yrs.)the other day with a long, thick ponytail very high on the back of his head and the hair below the ponytail was buzzed. I instanly started to think of that hairdo on me. At my job I have the option of wearing a baseball cap, so I could get this hairdo and just hide it in the baseball cap during work. My question is has anyone else seen this hairstyle? Would it look good on a guy over 16?(I'm 28) Is a ponytail the only option? Does it look stupid down? Or should I just forget about it.I would appreciate any opinions.
In reading your message,I think you have a pretty good idea.
Yes I have,A friend of mine had it and loved it.
He was about the same age and it looked good on him.
From what you've told us about how unreceptive your employer is to long hair, you can either do that or keep it in a hair net untill you get off work.
No on both questions. It really looked good on him.It was nice and full when he combed it out and you couldn't tell he had the sides buzzed until he pulled it up.Actully this style is very modern and would look good, and since you've wanted long hair for some time-I'd say go for it,if you don't like it you can always get it cut.In any event, keep us posted.

My boyfriend Steve has grown his hair out over the last couple of years and it extends about 4 inches past his collar. He too works for a company that has conservative appearance standards, although he has been tucking his hair up under a baseball every day. Recently when a big boss showed up at his workplace, he ordered that he get a hair cut within a week. I suggested that he get the neckline shaved, but he decided to get a wig instead. (He still wears the hat over the wig.) Steve swears that no one knows the difference, and if I didn't know him, I could'nt tell either!! Maybe you should buck the system like Steve did!
