Hey, folks. I'm interested in doing some modeling, and while I know that even the mainstream agencies are accepting long-hairs these days, I was wondering if anybody knows of agencies or photographers that specifically deal with long-haired males.
Any tips/leads are appreciated.
Rock on, fellow long-hairs.

New York is definitely where you want to be if you are to do ANY modeling. or LA.
Most mainstream agencies do want you to be versatile, or flexible with your hair, unless they really believe they would better aid you if you kept it long. Many will tell you that the long hair will 'limit' you. I've done some modeling in New Orleans. When I did the '97 Chevy Camaro brochure, the photographers put my hair in a flattened bun to conceal the length. I've also done trade shows and runway, and of course, they liked the long hair.
The point is, the agencies pick candidates whom they believe their CLIENTS will use. I would do some research first. Find out which agencies handle clients who prefer to use long haired male models. Online clothing stores who specialize in Gothic clothing, or biker clothing would be a start.
In all seriousness, the old fashioned 'shotgun approach' is used for finding an agent. Keep sending out your pics and resumes until you get a suitable agency. I would pick up a copy of Ross Reports for Television. Then, check out agencies that are affiliated with John Casablancas's modeling school. Don't get into 'modeling lessons'. Just find out if the agency will take you. That is how I got my start.
Rock on, and good luck!
Thanks a lot for the tips! I'm going to have to reply another time, though. =c)
