Greetings all, I have a question regarding washing hair. When I first started to take care of my hair, and buy products like Aussie, it was the same time I got worried about hair loss. As a result I have been too scared to rub my head too much in fear of knocking loads of hairs out. Thus, for the entire time I've been using better hair products I don't think I've actually been doing it right. Any area that is directly accessible gets washed thoroughly i.e crown and outer layers of hair, but the under layers may not be getting as good a wash. Beforehand I used to scrub crazily, but now I barely dare to lift my hair up. I'm sure shampoo will reach all the way through anyway, but I figured I'd see what techniques you guys employ.

Have you tried leaning your head forward and combing your hair in front of you and washing it that way, instead of leaning back? That seems to help me reach the under-layers quite a bit...
I always used to lean forwards and then changed it to backwards a few months ago, before reading on a female hair site that it was a bad idea. At the moment I do my hair in stages - after doing the back and top I tilt my head sideways and fit my hand under the hanging hair for the sides, if that makes sense.
I don't think I'd ever use a comb in the shower.
Thanks for your reply

I just wash gently. One variation is how many times to wash/rinse. Once removes most (but not all) of the hair's natural oils; twice removes pretty much all of it.
