Hi all,
Well lately I've been thinking of changing my user name; first of all, Sid comes from Sid VIcious of the Sex Pistols, and frankly he's never been my inspiration for hair, I just used the name on several different sites. Secondly, the name Sid just doesn't represent me well at all.
I want to use a name like "Strider," another one of my nicknames, but I don't want everyone to think of Strider in the LOTR movies when they see my name; his hair type is similar to mine(dark and wavy), but not the same.
So what do you guys think: How much does your username have to do with the image you present?
My username is my real name so it has everything to do with my hairstyle. I always have whatever hairstyle my username does, hehe. Ugosid is one I use everywhere though. It has nothing to do with anything at all.
My user name comes from a nickname that was given to me by someone else...
But I guess the names we chose to represent ourselves are always going to be revealing of how we see ourselves, or how we want to be.
I am quiet, and pensive. I have dark hair and green eyes, and I use my eyes alot in communicating with people - especially when it's non-verbal.
I admire wolves and their strengths. And I see mself as somewhat of a lone character, even though I can mix well with people.
In this way, my user name does represent how I see myself.

Hi Wolfeyes

My user name has everything to do with me - at least as far as this board is concerned. I've always wanted long hair and never really had the courage (for a variety of reasons - family, job, etc.) to just let my hair grow. I realized recently how envious (covetous?) I was of men with long hair, and further realized that I'd have to - at least once - let my own grow to see if it suited me. At some point - when my hair can actually be considered long - I was planning on changing my user name, but I'm not sure what that will be.
That "Ball" Guy is my performance name when I'm doing any of my juggling acts.

I remember when I first read your posts- knowing that your hair was very curly- I thought you were so named because you thought your hair looked in the shape of a ball! By the way, the curls suit you excellently.

"Elektra was a Pleiad loved by Zeus and by him became the ancestress of the Trojan royal family. She dwelt in a glorious palace on the island of Samothrake and there raised the goddess Harmonia, daughter of Aphrodite and Ares, with her own sons."
http://www.theoi.com/Ouranos/Pleiades.html#Elektra
"Evidence for an electrical explanation of oracles is to be found in the Greek word elektron, amber, Latin electrum. It has two meanings: amber, the tears of the Heliades, sisters of Phaethon, when he was killed trying to drive the sun's chariot through the sky; and a metal, four parts gold to one of silver. Tacitus refers to it as glaesum, flotsam and jetsam, found on the shores of what he calls, in his Germania, the Suebic Sea.
There is uncertainty about the gender of the Greek word. The form elektros is found, both masculine and feminine, as well as the usual neuter form elektron. Its derivation is unknown. It may be connected with elektor, shining, of the sun. A link with helko, pull, has been suggested, because of the attracting power of amber. Examples of its use: "having a gold chain, strung at intervals with amber beads," "meta d'elektroisin: eerto"; a necklace, strung with amber beads, like the sun."

just for backgorund info ;)

Wow! I should save this info. As you can no doubt tell, I have no classical background whatever!
Sadly I seem to find it really interesting - I used to study Greek and Roman architecture, and still have a soft spot for it. I also started reading books by an author called David Gemmell at about the same time, and he has written books that are based on historic events...
If you fancy giving them a go, the best titles are:
-'The Lion of Macedon'
-'Dark Prince' (both based on the history of the Roman general, Parmenion)
-The whole 'Rigante' series of books - loosely based on the Celtic, Viking and Roman civilisations.
-'Ghost King'
-'The Sword of Power' (his own account of the story of king Arthur)

I used to subscribe to the King Arthur newsgroup. I will look out for the Sword of Power. I also admit to admiring the Romans to a certain extent, although they invaded us. Queen Boadicea gave them a flea in their ear, though. Of course, that's the Roman name for her, so I should say Queen Boudica, but old habits die hard.
Some user names are just asinine, like mine is. When I first began posting I used my real first name, but then somebody came right after and started to use the very same name and my uncommon spelling of it. I felt that that second person should have seen that the name was being used already but I just decided to make another handle. Snarfagus means nothing except maybe a link to Snarf, a member of the Thundercats.
yeah, I loved and my IP address is different. It's still me.
I've just been called grim ever since I starteed school at 3 or 4 years old. My Second name is Grima and everyone just seemed to thake out the 'a' and called me grim all the time? I supposs it was a quick way of saying my name? I seemed to have adapted to this name just like slash form GNR has adapted to slash. There were times in school everyone new that I'm into Heavy Metal and Rock... So some people started calling me grim reaper or just reaper, as heavey metal and the dark side go to gether guite nicely.
Even the teachers started calling me grim as well!!
I should think relevancy of my user name here is obvious....
My grandfather had beautiful long silky white hair and mine is turning that way.....hence WHITE TAIL
My screen name is definitely linked, not so much to what I look like, but rather a certain type of weather I rather like - it's just complete coincidence that I also like the band Iron Maiden, who have a single by the same name.
I hate hot dry summers, and pretend that whenever it rains, it has happened because I have looked up at the sky and asked for it to rain. At my workplace, they nicknamed me the rainmaker which I rather liked and have taken it on board as an internet screen name.

Nothing whatsoever... Sorted is an abbreviation of the Company which I founded 3 years ago. Every since I've used it on Internet Forums cos it was easy to remember.
The word "Sorted" stuck in my mind from a Kevin & Perry (Harry Enfield) sketch where Perry starts talking with a Manchester Accent and repeatly said "Sorted ah Kid" just like the Gallagher brothers from Oasis.
Also Pulp had a song called "Sorted for E's & Whizz"... which was actually one of the coolest songs of the 90's... My screename really has nothing to do with me, just tell me when the space ship lands cos all this has to start to mean something...
Quite a lot, actually. I like to dress very surfer-like, e.g Baggy trousers, long t shirts, and shirts. I wear necklaces and jewellary to add to the look too. The closest beach from my house is actually 4.5 miles away, and it's not that good, for surfing at least. Also, don't think that I live on some Hawaii, like island, with sun kissed beaches all year round, and tropical crystal clear waters, it's quite a bit different where I live lol. Summer heat only lasts about 2-3 months at the most, then it's cold all year. I surf, bodyboard, skimboard, read surf magazines, shop at surf shops, and use 'dude' a lot, butnot too much as to make it unfashionable:)
I dream of becoming the next Kelly Slater, too.
'smy name. :-)
