heh, I watch wrestling all the time. I used to know a wrestling promoter who was a friend of the family who got me alot of free autographs too.
I used to be a HUGE wrestling fan. Since I was 5 until last year, I was totally in love with it. Everything I did everyday was wrestling related. I would watch tapes all day in my room. Then I lost quite abit of interest. There are several reasons - I burned myself out being around wrestling so much (especially on the internet - I became a smart mark); the current WWE product isn't exactly must-see; the indy scene became way too Japanese-based for my liking. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed watching Japanese wrestlers do the Puro style, but American guys just can't do it. Everyone just tries to beat each other harder than the guys in the match before, and they've lost their focus of actually telling a story. Sadly I don't see this fad going any time soon. I think it's safer to say that I haven't lost my love for wrestling itself, just today's product.
Most of the wrestling I watch now is either bits of TNA, or old school stuff that carry childhood memories that I cherish, and stuff that actually tells a good story, like NWA/early WCW.
As for hair, my favourite longhairs are Jim Mitchell (ECW/TNA); Chris Sabin (TNA); Trent Acid (CZW/ROH); and Lobo (CZW).

hahaha i was waiting for someone to post about wrestling. When i was like 7 or 8, all my freinds and my brother and i would do was watch wrestling. We all decided that we were gonna grow our hair out like Triple H. I think that was the first time in my life i wanted long hair.
If ever there were a situation where a Guy Shouldn't have long hair its if he's a WWE Wrestler!
Its probably the most impractical occupation in which to have longhair... Your opponent is virtually guaranteed to grab it; You have to swish it off your face before you smack your opponent, loosing valuable seconds advantage... I mean wake up boys I've never seen a bout when the hair didn't hinder them...
What's more, Wrestlers are responsible for keeping the Mullet in the public domain for years after its dismal demise. Think Shawn Michaels...

OK a tongue in cheek reply... but honestly when they pay such little attention to the basic practicalities of their 'sport', it does make me wonder how they keep half of their fan base believing the contests are not staged & choreographed.

I think 'half' is abit steep. Almost everyone nowadays understands the workings of the pro wrestling business. The wrestlers/companies themselves have made little attempt to stop that. I'd say only kids believe the guys hate each other, while you get the 'nerds' who sink into fantasy really easily.
Pro wrestling hasn't always been about weird moves that just don't make sense. Only in the last decade has it become more gymnastic in the pursuit of mainstream/fantastical acceptance. Non-wrestling fans to this day still falsely believe that wrestling companies expect fans to believe it's real. They don't - they provide entertainment, the fans get it.
I always wonder why people find it easier to believe that Arnold Schwarzenegger can dodge half a dozen crimelords firing machine guns at him, before jumping out of a 4 storey high window as the building blows up behind him, landing on the concrete with a tidy roll, then riding off on a motorcycle with a single cut above his eye.

"Half" Yeah OK that Probably a little harsh... true. But I'd like to see a Poll on who believes what... though it would be pointless running such a Poll on a board like this where most people are reasoably well informed.
Absolutely and full respect to them for what they do, I'd just rather see them recognised as Gymnasts rather than Super Heros.
Incidentally... have you ever being to a Marshall Arts Contest? Particularly with Karate, it was common to 3 types of Contest: 1) "Kata" Which is a rehearsed individual/group routine demonstrated against 'invisible' oponents as a pure demonstration of technique balance and synchronisation. 2) "Kumite" Free fighting... and the real crowd pleasers 3) Are the rehersed routines with two or more combatants who act out a fight scene against each other. They are much more spectacular than the free fights yet are made to look as authentic as possible.
The fact is you can't get spectacular fight sequences unless you have a compliant opponent, who understands the full routine. Pro Wrestling cashed in on this, hence it really stoped being a sport, but it doesn't take away the entertainment value or the skill of the Athletes, but unlike Karate it is Misrepresented for the sake of ticket sales.
