I was wondering if and why anyone else here has long hair because they look up or idolize someone or something. I always tell people when they ask why I have long hair that because the coolest people are rock stars and knights, and they both have long hair. I know this doesn't apply to all you, just wondering who you might idolize?
I grow my hair for myself the only 2 people I idolize is my mom and dad they are so wise i wish i would have listened more in my younger days life would have been a lot more easy on me

Maybe idolized isn't the correct word for me, but you could say I was inspired by the late great John Lennon. He was the catalyst for me to want to grow mine long.

When people ask me why am I growing my hair, the most recent reply I like giving is that girls love me with longer hair. This is true, because at least 8 girls have told me I look much better with longer hair than before, and that I should Grow, not Cut:)
I suppose Legolas is my favourite person with long hair though.
I really dont have a long hair idol. My reason for growing is because i grew up with my parents always forcing me to look the same as everyone else, and i just wanna be different. But i wasnt sure how i wanted my hair to grow untill i joined the board and saw Sorted and other members hair.
The other reason for growing my hair out is when i was like 7 years old, i wanted to be just like Triple H from wrestling
well.. Ive allways wanted to have long her because Im a rocker.. so having long hair is the only thing missing from my rocker identity.. Ive allways wanted to have steven tyler's hair (aerosmith vocalist) so I guess thats the person Ive allways looked up to when it comes to hair..
I don't think I've decided to grow my hair because I have an idol. I think it's more out of resistance to the short hair my parents always wanted me to have and the more conservative identity I had in my 20s and 30s. I'm trying not to idolize anyone's hair - and just find out what mine is like when it's long.

I don't realy know that I have a longhair Idol... but I do suffer from Longhair envy... I always envy people with beautiful hair, both guys and gals, this partly motivated me to grow. That and the other part of me which says, "this is who I am... I feel like a longhair." Its kind of an unexplanable gut instinct, you just know... a friend of mine compared it knowing whether you are straight or gay. YOU JUST KNOW YOU ARE MEANT TO BE A LONGHAIR.
