...what are CONES?
I've seen it in a few posts, most recently in Sorted's post below. I don't have any point of reference for CONES, and would love to be updated.

siliCONES - Unless I've misread the abbreviation for the past 12 months :-)
More broadly a chemical found in shampoos and condtioners which coats your hair to make it look smoother and trap out moisture. They are heavily used in shampoos and conditioners which advertise "Smooth & Sleek" or "Smooth & Straight" results.
Again... thats my understanding... Ste will no doubt set me straight if I have anything wrong there... :-)

Always the pedant, I'd prefer to see it written as 'cones.
BTW I'm fighting the urge to take a pot of white paint to my local car park which has a sign "Please pay in lobby's" (Lobby's what ??) Maybe I should change my nickname to Victor Meldrew...
