Well, I just returned from my 2nd trim and I just have to say that I'm PISSED OFF! I've been set back to 9 months and there looks like a mountain growing out of the top of my head. I've got hardly any bangs at all and from the front I look like a vertical goldfish cracker. I don't see where the point is if hair is long, it needs to be cut?
I felt like I was getting closer and closer to my goal but then I'm forced back to start again from scratch. A 1/2 inch off, yeah right. A half inch off my ass!
See, this is why most people here will warn you against getting a trim, and if you must get it, it is highly reccomended that you trust the person cutting your hair.
Wew, man was I angry! I've calmed down a lot since then and I feel relaxed now. I believe the reason why I was so furious was because it felt like I was too accustomed to the length I had. But very soon this'll just become a thing of the past.
Sorry it happened and sorry you feel badly about it.
I think most people here would agree that trims=set backs.
It can be VERY difficult to stay away from trims because
you may THINK that trimming your hair will take away the tortures
of the awkward period, when all they really do is prolong it.
There is nothing you can do about it now...but for God's sake
don't be hard on yourself--don't put yourself down.
NOW is the time to turn things around--at least inside your
head.
Tell yourself that you have learned a valuable lesson (a lesson
that someday you may be able to share with others) that
trims are something to avoid if your goal is to have
long hair as quickly as possible.
Winter is on its way, and by the time spring returns, you
will have added several inches to what you have now.
Thanks for sharing your story with this board as others
will benefit from your experiences.
Good Luck and go easy on yourself!
