How does one braid hair? I'm 16 and I grew up in an environment where I didn't have much contact with females that braided their hair (let alone talk about it) and braiding was not popular. So, I don't know how to braid my hair, but I would like to. This is a question that seems to be too embarrassing/uncomfortable to ask in person, so I hope that you, fellow longhairs, will provide a few useful instructions and tips.
My hair is a bit lower than my shoulderblades, and I'd like to experiment with braiding it.
In addition, how hard is it to braid hair all by oneself? I was also considering a hairstyle where instead of using a scrunchie or some other ponytail holder to have a ponytail, I could braid my hair at top of my neck for about two inches. Is that realistic with hair of my length?
Thanks to all in advance!
Try this.
All you have to do is practice. When you are a guy, you don't learn as early on. But I watched girls in elementary school and middle school do it. When I tried it, it was horrible. Now I can french braid my own hair as well as others. I don't see any limits. Try a regular braid first.
