I posted this about 3 days ago...maybe my comp is screwed upand it didnt get thru. anywayz, i was just wonderin what u guys think about ceramic plated hair straighteners, i just bought one tht has a one inch width. Would it help me in my situation? I got very full thick hair and i just want to straighten it out. You know, every morning when i wake up it looks like i had just put my finger in an electrical socket. I dont understand why my hair cant just fall down flat. Thats all i want. I just also bought pantene pro-v shampoo and conditioner for sleek and smooth hair. Is this a good brand? Basically what it boils down to is, how can i get my hair to stop being so poofy and just lay flat, like most oriental people, you know? thanks!
Hello:
I have thick, curly, dry hair. I purchased a CHI ceramic 1" flat iron a few months ago and love it. (Click on my pic above to go to my website and check out the pictures page; it'll show you a before-and-after comparison.) I'm at the very end of the awkward stage, and my flat iron has been my key to sanity. It makes my hair quite straight and resistant to humidity, and it helped it stay behind my ears when it wasn't long enough to do so when curly. (It's finally to the point that -- curly or straight -- it'll stay tucked.)
I think the key is finding an iron that's not just metal plates coated with ceramic, but has ceramic plates through and through. I've heard that the ceramic will eventually wear off the ceramic-coated irons, and the underlying metal plates will fry your hair.
Good luck!
Jeremy
