Saw this on a hair loss forum I frequent:
"Inside Entertainment magazine article"
from page 28, in the September 2004 issue
MOUSE PATTERN BALDNESS
" Bruce Willis is planning to undergo a revolutionary hair treatment to cover his famous bald head. The recently single Willis has consulted experts about a new hair cloning treatment which has only been tested on rodents and is awaiting approval from the US government. It's only been tested on rodents? Am I the only one picturing a gerbil with a comb-over? OK, so it's just me. "

Thoughts? First off, unless somebody in the field has carried out full research and trials without saying anything, then this technology is not 'awaiting approval from the US government'. As far as the online community knows, nobody has a full grasp of this science. Secondly, if this is true, I dunno why he's bothering. He looks fine as he is anyway, and I didn't really expect someone of his age and fame and status to be worrying about having hair.
Matt
My understanding is that the standard for approving procedures is much lower than that for approving new drugs, so this is possible.
Also, there seems to be a lower standard for approving treatments for male issues. So baldness treatments and things like Viagra got the rush treatment, while many treatments for less glamorous diseases wait for the bureaucrats to get around to them.
You may feel that Bruce looks fine, but image is everything in Hollywood. Everybody wants to be perfect there.
It's hard to argue against what you said. The approval process for many drugs can take many years in this country. And historically, the drugs primarily for females have taken far longer than those primarily for males. Of course, if it's a political thing, it gets even worse.
There are drugs that have been safely used in Europe and elsewhere for years that the U.S. has still not approved. Oh, and these drugs are basically for women and their specific health issues.
While drugs pertaining to "the morning after" or things like RU-486 are endlessly debated and put on hold, Viagra, Cialis, and the other "erectile dysfunction" helpers go from zero to hero in no time flat.
As for Bruce, hey dude, he has a shaved head and it looks good on him! I don't know why a guy like him would want a full head of hair. Then again, look at Elton John. Many tries and millions of dollars later he has real human hair growing from his head.
As for me - why couldn't I be rich instead of so dayum good looking!
Hahahahahaha!
i think that's about as pointless as full-haired people cutting their hair :)

Actually Matt, it seems Bruce Willis does care. He said himself in interviews and talk shows that his biggest fear is getting older. This is just one more thing for him to fight to losing battle against age. My point is the peices fit and this may actually be true.
Pull your head out man! One would think, if anybody could understand wanting to grow their hair out it would be us who are doing exactly that! Whats not to understand??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It may be that he wants long hair - go figure, maybe we can empathize.
He did have long hair in a movie he did with Billy Bob Thornton and Cate Blanchett. It was called "Bandits", in the beginning he had a ponytail, and then later in the movie had it cut to his collar.
Here is a site with some pictures. I think he looks a lot better with long hair - maybe he agrees.
