While not wanted, at least I'm in style!
After letting my hair grow out for over a year with minimal trims and wanting to start the process of evening the sides to the back for a one length look, I went for a short trim this week. I requested to have 1/2" off the back and to just trim the sides by 1/4" or less. While the back was only cut by a 1/2" and are still about 3" below my collar, the sides were shortened by nearly two inches and are now mid-ear length.
Yes, I complained, but even the discount and apology I got couldn't make up for almost four months of growth. Up until this point, my stylist of eight years has done exactly as requested. Not sure if I should give her a try again (not for at least 6 months) or search for a new one. Her reason was that she was trying to even the sides out and cut to far!
