Just wondering, what Web browser do longhairs prefer?
Charles
I like NeoPlanet- Its got lots a cool skins!

I'm a Netscape user myself. I don't care for Explorer, and I espically do not like Bill Gates including it as an integrated part of his operating system.

One that doesn't crash at the drop of a hat.
Answering for myslef, I used to use Netscape because I was very angry with Internet Explorer 4.0 because a beta version prevented me from reverting to the Internet Explorer 3 which I used to access one of the ISP's I used.
Then one day, when Netscape Communicator 4.5 prevented me from using Microsoft Exchange and hence Microsoft Fax, when I configured it as my default browser and e-mail program, I realised that both Microsoft and Netscape were playing the same game, so I decide to go with the one which was most convenient for me.
Well, within a Windows 95 environment, I find Internet Explorer and Outlook Express integrates best with the dialer, so that's what I use.
Basically, I don't see any point getting caught up in this fight between Microsoft and Netscape, just as I don't see any point in Manchester United fans fighting with Liverpool fans.
At the end of the day, the football clubs laugh all the way to the bank, while their fans suffer broken noses or worse.
Anyway, I'll check out Neoplanet and see what it is like.
Thanks for responding
Charles
I use Netscape.
Mostly Netscape or Lynx under Linux, when I am connecting from home. I use MSIE occasionally at home when I boot up Win95 on one of my PCs, but that's about once every month or so.
Regarding dialers and internet connections, this stuff is handled entirely by an old 486 PC running Linux - I won't let any M$ product connect to the internet without going through the Linux firewall... After all I am a Linux longhair :-)
At work I am stuck with MSIE...

I use Netscape 3 Gold. I want the advanced (Communicator?) version,
but I haven't the additional room on my hard drive.

I use Netscape only because it comes with Linux.
I was completely cured of my M$ about a year ago.
Was hoping to see more of us looking to the true leader
of the free world (Linus T.).
Well, I had a beer together with him a few years ago...

I use Netscape at home and IE at work (have to). Actually, my preferred browser was the most recent version of NCSA Mosaic (circa 1994). Unfortunately the University of Illinois (I think that is who was developing it) stopped developing it. It was the fastest, most capable browser of its time, the code was public I believe, and was the basis for many of the other browsers.
I will hasten to point out that there were many browsers called Mosaic, including AOL's first browser and Compuserve's first browser. I think these were based on an earlier version of NCSA Mosaic that was much inferior. Of course AOL, et. al. also had to introduce their own set of bugs.
Netscape 4.5 It came with my phone service and I prefer it to M$, don't know about the others. I like papying for internet service as part of my phone bill - $20 a month.
I use Internet Explorer 5... incredibly fast, stable, never crashes.
