I can't possibly have a hairstyle right now. After I take a shower, I just leave my hair alone. It looks as if I just woke up. I can't wait for my hair to be the length I want it. Arghhhhhhhhhhhh...
Hang in there mate... time is a healer!
Hey! I totally get what you're talking about. I'm in the early awkward stages and last night after I got out of the shower I was, like, "I'm getting all my hair cut off tomorrow!!!" Then I woke up this morning and changed my mind. My hair is a fright, but I've committed to growing it out so I can decide once and for all if long hair really suits me.
Don't give up. Sorted must be right: Time is a great healer! Good luck!
Actually here's something that I've found - The Longer you've been growing, the easier it becomes to carry on.
The first 3 months are easy... it just looks like you're overdue your regular 4-6 weeks between hair cuts.
3-6 months is hard cos you tend to start coming into the awkward stage. But Once you clear 6 months you realise that if you cut your hair back to your old short style, if you regret the decision to cut then you've just lost 1/2 a year!
6-12 months is still awkward, and can look terrible, but the knowledge that you'll be giving up on so much effort spurs you on. Try Taking Monthly Progress Pics as this will help you visualise how far you've come and spur you to continue.
12-18 whilst things can still be awkward at times you are starting to see what you look like with long hair and you know that you can't quit now when you are so close to you goal. Keep up with the progress pics they help!
18-24 months, by this time you're a bonafied longhair and at worst you're starting to think about "evening it up" a bit. But by now your hooked and there is no way you'll cut and go back to been a short-hair anytime soon!
Basically get thru the first 6-12 months then you're into the home straight, that might sound like ages, but believe me time flies.
Sorted
The longer you've been growing the harder it becomes to quit!
Have you tried not leaving it alone after you shower? I dont think many people's hair dries naturally and looks the way they want it? You could try blowdrying it to get the kinks out of it so it wouldnt look like you just woke up, you could then use some hair friendly styling products to shape it into place at least until its grown out somewhat.
