I just ran across this site and wanted to encourage everyone out there to keep growing killer long hair. This is what mine looks like after about thirteen years of not cutting it. Hope to see everyone else get to this point.
Awesome length! Absalom may have a contender for longest hair here.
Hi Bruin, welcome. Your hair may be even longer than mine. This is difficult to determine since I do not know how tall you are. Mine will tie into a 39 inch ponytail. My hair also hangs 17 inches past my waist. Absalom

Hope I did this right, colons in front of old text. Does that mean I need a colon in front of both of the messages? Oh well :-) Anyway, I'm six feet tall and my hair is about four feet now. It hangs just above knee length except when it's wet it's right at my knees. I never had a real length goal, just wanted it long and it's still growing! There was a couple years I kept it at my waist thinking it made me look more presentable for my job. We all have our doubts about what other people might think at times. I'm sure that's what most of us like about this Hyperboard, knowing we're not the only ones out there. Bruin
You are doing fine, Bruin. Handily the colons appear automatically for us so you don't even need to add them. Thank you for sharing your photos with us, especially good to see such lovely uncut "fairytale" ends.
Elizabeth, who thinks four feet of hair on a six foot body is such a nice proportion
That is one gorgeous mane. Be sure to drop by the board periodically. I am sure you have a wealth of hair wisdom to share. Best wishes. Abaslom ^_^
Looks unreal man... can we see ponytail pics?

I actually don't have any pictures with just a single ponytail but here's how I used to keep it for work before I learned how to braid myself. I had someone ask me once if my hair was real or part of the cap I was wearing. Not sure if they liked my answer or not. I'll post a pic with it braided too. Bruin

I used to think braiding was too "feminine" looking for me but it's funny how you get over things. I prefer a braid now that I've played around with it, stays back there better and is easier to brush out at night. It takes longer and sometimes I don't get it right the first time but it's well worth the effort. Keep it long and rock on. Bruin
Love the T shirt, man!:)
Thanx for posting your pic. It's always nice to have new members
to inspire others in their Journey toward their goals.
You have a very nice mane. Is it a lot of work for you?
If you ever have the time, perhaps you could post your 'hair routine' with the board.
Blessings on you and yours.
Very nice, Bruin!
Very impressive length, and I must ask, is your hair naturally curly or more wavy? In the pic, it appears your hair is curly but the length pulls the curls quite straight, especially at the ends.
In the first pic where I'm facing the wall, that's not what my hair looks like naturally. It only does that after I take it out of a basic three-strand braid. My hair's a little wavy but because of the length it normally looks pretty straight.
As far as routine goes, I used to wash it every two days three at the most (includes shampoo and conditioner). Now every two days sounds rediculous, that's alot of work. I get by washing it every three to four days now or even longer if I'm really being lazy about it. I don't use styling products and never ever blow dry it. Most of the time I keep it up in a ponytail but if I really want it to stay back there AND be really managable when it comes time to brush it out, there's no other way to go but to braid it. And make no mistake about it, braiding your hair by yourself is not as easy as you might think. The key is either practice, practice, practice... or better yet, have someone else do it :-)
Hope this answers your questions. It is a lot of work and not everybody can appreciate that as much as we do. Every now and then you will get tired of having long hair. When this happens, wait a week and see if you still feel the same. During that week think about what you'll have to endure to get it back to where it was. Remember when it was at your shoulders and you couldn't get rid of that darn flip? I'm not saying that it gets any easier but in my opinion... it will look alot better. Good luck everyone ^_^ Bruin
Thanks for posting your pictures. You've got great hair *and* impressive natural ends. Your achievement is *very* encouraging. You said you wanted long hair but was there any specific reason you started growing when you did? Do you wear it down at work? Thanks for showing us a great example of male longhair!
Sorry I didn't get back to you on this earlier Gollan. I didn't have a single reason wanting to grow my hair out, kind of a combination of several things. I never could find a short hairstyle that I liked, a girl I liked loved playing with my hair, and I can't imagine anyone that grew up in the eighties didn't want to be Vince Neil. I love the feel of my hair against my back and whipping it around although I don't do that enough anymore.
I don't wear it down much outside of the house. At work I either keep it back in about six hair ties or, now that I've learned to braid myself, I do a simple three-straind braid. Thank you for the flattery and keep it growing :-) Bruin
That's amazing. Great length, colour, and looks to be damage-free. Kickass!
Thanks for posting such inspirational pix, and for your smile!

You're most definitely welcome. Thank you for the compliment! Bruin
