I just posted a *huge* update to my website. It includes September Progres pictures and a new instruction page on making a bee-butt bun. I also made a big tech change by eliminating the use of *most* (but not all) JavaScript. There is a *lot* of new stuff on there so feel free to look around. As always I welcome your feedback and comments. I've been growing my hair since June 2002. My one and only trim was in September 2002, exactly two years ago this month. I send a big 'thank you' to everyone here at the Men's Longhair Hyperboard for your knowledge, encouragement, wisdom, and humor.
Your hair is amazing. You suit long hair more and more the longer it gets. Your bonus features have always been a pleasure to read, but this time you've outdone yourself!
One question - when you put your hair in a bun, do you notice strands falling out due to tugging away at it? I doubt I'd dare experiment even that far with my long hair. A simple ponytail is all for me.
Congratulations, I look forward to future updates.
Matt

First off your hair keeps getting more visibly long every few months so congrats Gollan. And second I completely agree with you decapitated_Vogg I to wouldn't experiment with something like the bun without having some one help me in fear of tying my hair into one big knot :P.
Matt, thanks you for your kind comments. When I first started wearing a bun the biggest problem I had was the strands falling out of the 'edge' of the bun. These were hairs that were long enough to reach the bun but were too short to stay put. One effective solution I found was a bobby pin across the hair mid-way between my ear and the base of the bun (same as for a ponytail). For a 'pin-free' look I used to douse the area around the bun with hairspray. That worked well but it left residue in my hair. Eventually my hair got long enough that it is no longer an issue. BTW, a few strands falling out of the bun does *not* mean it is ruined. We see people wearing buns all the time but if you really start observing them you will notice that very few are magazine-perfect yet they all look good.
Gollan,
Your hair is looking outstanding! And the Bee Butt instructions are excellent. I'm going to give it a shot.

Hi Gollan
Once again great hair and it's amazing the difference in a year. I also prefer your goatee rather than a full beard if it's okay to say that.
Thanks for showing us your progress again!

I think your site is great for teaching people here one thing: patience pays off, because before a person knows it (assuming his hair grows as quickly as yours does) his hair will be quite long!
You look good with either longish hair, as in Sept 2003, or much longer hair, as of today. If you do tie your hair back, I think it would be nice if you attempted a style similar to what Sorted shows in one of his recent messages.
If people want others to talk about what they like or don't like about various hairstyles, and give everyone a really good sense of what works or doesn't work on them, I'd recommend they create a web page similar to yours.
One word, Gollan: HEALTHY! Your hair looks as healthy as can be. Keep up the good growing and take care.
VERY NICE!! I must say, your progress pics have inspired me to keep growing, so thanks! I love your Bonus pics, and the bee butt bun pictoral, as that is one of my favorite styles that i will be using when my hair is long enough. OH btw, your september prog pics look awesome, and to me, it looks like your length is really close to ozzy osbourne's hair.Iuno, for some reason you remind me of ozzy, but its not a bad thing! keep growing!
Just remarkable !!
I have been an avid member of the "Gollan Fan Club" for over two years and have not only enjoyed watching your metamorphoses, but also have learned a great deal from your very generous sharing. You obviously put a considerable amount of time and effort into your progress reports and it is appreciated by the board.
Looks like you shed a few pounds also (not that you needed to )
Keep Well, Happy and Hairy
Thanks, I appreciate your kind feedback on my website. Yes, I lost quite a bit of weight. I'm close to my ideal weight and back to shopping in the *boys* clothing department.
Your hair grows reallly fast, and it look fantastic. I loved the bee-butt. I definitely plan to try it some time.
I bet your hair would look great braided. Have you ever tried that. I would love to see pics.

Fantastic ! Your hair is coming along great and shows no signs of going ratty at the ends - bodes well for a LONG terminal length. I have to accept that my hair will just not do what yours does (i.e. grow shiny, healthy and without receding). Oh well. Is it me or do you still have a beard, albeit less of a one ?
Enjoyed the updates to your site. Punched cards ! I remember when modems were the size of an industrial washing machine !! Do you remember the Sinclair ZX Spectrum ? 'Those were the days....')
