I just got the nerve up today to measure to see how long my hair is now.Last time I measured I was at about 5-6 inches now it's at about 10 1/2 inches long (back). To me that seems kind of short for growing it for a year and a half. But I am probably overreacting a bit. So i'm just gonna try to chill out and forget about it and keep on growing my hair and not measure for a few months to see how much it has grown. My sister pulled my hair so it was straight last night and it's almost halfway between my shoulder and shoulder blade in the back. The front however is about 10 inches long and goes past my chin about an inch to an inch and a half.
Another thing is... I'm noticing the new hair growth is coming in somewhat lighter. And i've also noticed highlights in my hair and I haven't dyed my hair in about two years.I never noticed these highlights when my hair was short but I like them. Looks kinda neat I think.
Well I thought I would share this with ya'll so. Later,
Mark
How long was your hair when you first stopped cutting? Hair grows on average about .5 inches per month. So at a year and a half (18 months), your hair should have grown about 9 inches. I'm right at the 2 year mark, and my hair is about 13.5 inches long, though it appears shorter due to the curl.
Relax, it's still getting longer.

Hello That "Ball" Guy,
I started out from a bowl cut.The top of my head had longer hair somewhere between 1 inch or 1.5 inches or so and the sides and back were probably a half to a quarter of an inch. The sides and back were practically bald. It had that sandpaper like feel to it.

My hair's about 7 1/2-8 inches, I'm going for around the 18 inch range. I've got quite some time to go.
How far do your bangs reach when you pull them straight, can I ask? Because my bangs are also 7 1/2 inches. Ta.
They reach just about to my chin.
Hmm, my bangs are 7.7 inches long, but they only reach slightly past my bottom lip!
Thanks
...I know what you mean about the hair length. Mine is only about 14 inches and I've been growing for 2 years and 3 months. Can't wait till mine grows to my goal length (mid-back). I have about another 8 inches to go. :(
