Why is it that men with longhair(not all men) prefer to wear their hair in a ponytail instead of loose? I understand wearing it up for work etc...but wearing it up all the time!? Why bother with the long hair if it is not worn loose at times. I myself prefer the hair worn loose!! Anyone else with me on this?
You bet, Lisa! I definitely have to have mine loose. If it is too windy to have it completely free, I'll put a bandanna around my head, and that keeps my hair out of my face for the most part. With the bandanna on, my hair is still mostly free. With the bandanna on, or with my hair completely loose, I can see it out of the corner of my eyes, and I can see it in my shadow and in reflections. I feel like I'm a LONGHAIR.
When you have your hair in a tail, at least half the people you meet won't even realize you're a longhair. This is because when you meet people you face them, and hair in a tail cannot then be seen. ;-)
I let my hair free most of the time - I just like the feel of it on my back and arms, and the feel of it flowing in the wind. I tie it sometimes in a ponytail - mostly when the weather is too hot and humid, and during activities where my hair would get in the way or would be damaged.

Memories of when I first was growing my hair long. I worked in a DUI state prison as a counselor. Not an inmate, not a cop. Corrections officers all has skin heads. Inmates were allowed to keep their long hair but had to keep it tied back. My agencies contract didn't have a dress code for hair so I was allowed to walk the yard with my long hair flowing free.
Inmates would ask me why I didn't have to tie my hair back. I'd just smile and say, "Because I'm a free man, one more reason to stay sober."
Drove the cops crazy though, they were always hassling me.
I have a very long thick hair. i find it difficult to have it loose.
i prefer to either wear a pony or to braid (one or two strand). i usually prefer two strand and a fold of them. i use this even when i go to my school. this is good even when i sleep.
