I got the worst case of hair static last night. I used 4 squirts of jojoba oil on my brush trying to combat it. I normally only use one squirt, so now it looks oily as heck, but it's still full of static today!
First sign of winter = hair standing on end and sending out electrical popping noises when brushed.
I'll probably just soak it in olive oil today. I have no plans to go anywhere. Maybe a good oil soak will help with the static. If nothing else I'll get that "spun-gold" shine!
I'm off to grab the olive oil and shower cap. Updating the pics page should give my hair plenty of soak-time. hehehe
Sherri, perhaps a humidifier would help moisten the air around you. Until then, you could brush with the lights off and by a mirror. It won't do a thing for the static problem but it is fun to see the blue sparks off your hair.

That was funny! If you'd told me that last night, I probably would have.
As for a humidifier, I can't use one here. I have about 600 gallons of water in heated fish tanks. Any more water in the air and it'll start condensing on the walls.
Sherri, I completely forgot about your fish. Yep, you're already damp there. I just remembered when visiting a friend she gave me an anti-static dryer sheet to fold over my hair and scoot down the length a few times. That worked well enough to brush out without sticking to my arms, shirt and everywhere else.
There is also anti-static spray I sometimes use so my braid ends aren't goofily splayed out and plastered to my legs. I have no idea if the contents of the spray are hair friendly though.
