True.
And of course, we've heard classical referred to as "longhair" music.
Then for jazz, there's Kenny G...
and for new age... Yanni...
Let's not mention Michael Bolton... former longhair!
Men with long hair are often thought of as musicians or into music.
I like music myself, but it has nothing to do with my hair... especially since I consider myself to have quite an eclectic taste.
And there's also an amazing goa/psytrance (electronica genres) group called "Astral Projection", all two members of which who are longhairs.
But it may be that people who like long hair tend to be musically
inclined or inclined towards the arts anyway. Just a hypothesis.

Not necessarily. There are plenty of science/engineer/computer science types with long hair, and by and large we have no more musical/artistic inclinations than any random person... unless, I suppose, you count programming as an art form, which could be argued but is still a little out there. ;)

In my observations, though, the long-hair guys tend to be musicians, or *think* they're musicians, and I've found what appears to be
a disproportionate number of "techies", long hair or not, who are
good amateur musicians. And yes, I think computer programming is both
a technical skill and an art.

Actually, it has been proven that those who have an understanding of music and music theory possess a greater ability to think analytically, and tend to have a greater proclivity toward mathematical sciences.
