Everyonce in awhile I get a sore scalp. It feels tender and kinda hurts to touch my head. What can cause this and what can I do about it? Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and later,
Mark
gently massage your scalp

This only happens to me when I wait too long between washings. Is your hair really oily when this happens? If so, I agree with Vincent, gently message your hair while you wash it.

I will occasionally get this when I sleep with my hair folded over some funny way with pressure pulling on the roots. Taking hold of a lock of hair from the sore area and gently rubbing in circles tends to help it.
That "Ball" Guy
No my hair isn't oily to speak of when the soreness happens. But it could be because I didn't get a chance to wash my hair yesterday because we went all over the place grocery shopping and stuff.
This might be stating the obvious but a too-tight pony tail (or any other tight styling of the hair) can do this.
The other day, was the first day I had successfully put my hair behind my ears. After a whole day, sometimes combing it back for some of the hair to lie on my head, my scalp was extreamly sore. I believe it was the hair bending the wrong way. I suppose I'll get used to it in time, of course.
