i no your probably sick of posts abou kurt but here it goes, i really want my hair like the red colour that kurt had in this photo, can anyone suggest how to get it like this, i have dark brown hair,
Thanx
The first thing I thought of, before reading the text, was Kurt. My guess is some bright red hair-dye but maybe don't message it in real good or maybe wait a while for the brown to come back a little to create the effect in the photo. I'm not tired of hearing about the legend.

O.k thanx but i think i will need to bleach ma hair first or the red wont show too good, i was thinking wen i bleah it leaving bits of ma hair darker than the other then wen i dye it red it will have darker bits and lighters bits. Does this sound like a o.k idea or not?
That reds not that hard to come by..it doesn't seem to be a permant dye though but id assume you'd have to bleech any exsisting color before hand. You can usually get the dyes and bleech at any beauty and supply shop.
yea i no its not hard to come by but i mean like that colour, he as darker bits n stuff, thanx for ya help guys anyway
Apparently he used strawberry Kool-Aid. When I first read that I thought it was a joke, but people have tried it and it works so they say. It works better on blond, although with your dark brown hair I guess you'd be able to have those mixed-colour patches. I'd advise against such a move if you value hair health.

Whats strawberry kool-aid? never herd of it before, Do you know a site where i can read about when he dyed his hair red or anythign like that?
I too love his red hair, but my favourite style has to be his really long hair from the Bleach period. Probably because that's the last period in which he gave off a sense of happiness in all of his photos...

Just how he got the red the way he did i supposed, i prefered his hair in the years before he died. was kool :-)
My friends and I tried dyeing with Kool-Aid years ago. My hair was short then, but all we did was mix up a super-concentrated batch of Kool-Aid in warm water and soak the hair in it. If your hair is dark, though, you would not achieve that bright red color just from Kool-Aid.
If you have dark hair and want a clear red like that, I think the only option is to bleach the hair and then use a red dye. Special Effects brand is particularly good in my experience. But bleaching your hair isn't the healthiest thing for it... When I used bright colors on my hair, I didn't have to bleach it because it was light to begin with.
Forget Kurt's hair! Why can't people try and model their hair after Dave Grohl's instead?
because dave never had red hair and i dont want ma hair that long....
Doh!
Is that photo 'real'? the red looks like its been added to me... but anyways, whether its real or not you'll have a hard time getting your hair that colour if it is dark brown. You'll firstly have to bleach it out to a very light blond, then apply a red dye which you can either buy in a drugstore or get it done in a salon... id get it done in a salon since the bleaching will be damaging, also it'll be high maintenance as the colour tho 'permanant' will fade quickly so you'll have to keep gettin it done every few weeks.
